Is it possible to buy REAL facebook fans?

Hello fellow Warriors!

I was wondering is it even possible to purchase "real" facebook fans. There are so many services on WF and a lot even have their own websites. I know most of them are no good and give you friends that only have like 10 friends but are there any services that are legit?

I'm looking to increase not just my number of fans, i also want quality fans who are actually interested in my website.

Thank you warriors!

Getting loyal fans is another story, but you can get fans from around the world for maybe 12 cents each at micro task sites like mturk.com or microworkers.

A guy recently posted a video he made showing where to go on Fcebook to get a Fan Page short name without the 25 min fans.

I tried using Facebook PPC ads to get Likes for an app, using "How do you like" in the ad copy I got a pretty high like percentage, but the clicks were too pricey for me, I hear that with enough high CTR traffic, the CPC might have gone down to 1 digit.

facebook advertising is basically "purchasing fans" - it can be effective for certain niches, the kind that people aren't embarrassed to be a fan of. Also if you can offer an incentive that can help.

No, it is not possible to pay people to really like you. If you had to pay them, they don't really like you. That's why you paid them.

I love this post - you hit the nail on the head!

Just like getting a girlfriend. If you pay them, they don't really love you. And yes, you can hire people to pretend to be your girlfriend on Facebook.

They probably have facebook accounts with 5k friends on it and inviting them to the fanpage they're selling. Just my thought though!

yes i was thinking it could be possible and organic by having real fan pages, and placing a link on that fan page to like.. but that would be a really slow process.

Some people just like to have the numbers. That way when someone is generally interested they see that the page has 1,254 likes opposed to 43 likes.

I don't think it can be made any clearer than Caliban and Suzannes comments but I'm sure, seeing as the OP wants to believe it's true, all the people that say they've had "results" will win the day and another mug spends his weekend money.

It's funny really, if the OP read a paid testimonial, it's scream BS but if you pay for someone to like you, somehow that will earn you money. Respectfully, the actions been taken, they've been paid to "like" you.....Now try and sell them something, because you'll have to pay them a heck of a lot if you already had to pay them to click a poxy "like" button.

That's soooooo cooool. Nothing like getting your ego stroked. How much money have you made from them though?

Can someone just chime in and say how much money they make like this rather than how many "likes" you get because I'm interested in the cash it generates and with respect, I dont give a s*** how many likes you have.

Yes you can do via small freelancer sites like microworkers etc. Second way in which you can get you established a page by you which have good fans from across the globe and you should always update that page, then it will convert into a great asset for your future projects. Though its an hard working process but its effective I have some page which have more than 10000 fans and my some mates have 50,000 plus. Otherwise you have to share page targeted pages and walls of users from which you need likes.

A few people have said roughly the same thing. Maybe I'm missing something, but aren't you each assuming that you'd be paying someone to be a fan, when more likely, you are paying someone to invite their fans to be your fans as well?

I have never bought fans, so this is just conjecture, but are there not people who build lists in a specific niche, and then invite their list to check out your page once you pay them?

I don't see much difference between that and a media buy, where you pay for clicks to your squeeze page from someone who has a website in your niche.

Why would clicks from a fanpage invite for another fanpage in the same niche as you be any less valid in terms of the people being actually interested in checking you out than clicks from a website to another site in the same niche? I get that maybe I'm overlooking something, so the question is more than rhetorical, although I suspect I'm right.

Real friends, or fans, don't require you to pay them money.

The only exceptions are in movies...like Pretty Woman or Toy (Richard Prior). Where they pay them at the beginning, but then realize that they actually like each other. But you have to wonder if that initial exchange of money is always hanging over their head

  • I've been reading articles in the social media field recently.

There is a trend among social media consultants to promise prospective customers their campaign will yield X number of Likes -- then once the contract's signed, the consultant goes to Fiverr or somewhere similar and just buys enough gigs to make that happen.

The social media campaign that produces REAL people who will like your page is vanishing -- because that requires work and money. The quickie consultants can underbid such a campaign every time.

Even for large product companies I wouldn't believe all the Likes were legitimately obtained. The Like count is for show.

I think this is easy enough to understand.

Use the Facebook advertising platform to advertise your fan page to those who have identified they are interested in the product, service, topic, etc.

Create an advertisement that says "Click LIKE if you love World of Warcraft" coupled with an image WoW gamers can associate with and target those who have identified that they like World of Wacraft and you'll probably get some fans.

REAL fans, those that are INTERESTED in what your fan page is about.

My fav way to "buy" fans is simply putting my page out there with FB ads. My most popular page started in April just by getting the word out through ads and it's grown to 200,000 (just hit that today!) So I think that ads can be helpful in the beginning to help people see that you're on Facebook so they have an opportunity to connect. I would recommend testing CPM and CPC though because some ads KILLED it with CPM ($.003 per click) and others the best was CPC ($.05 per click). So just test out some ads to get your fan base going. Then provide cool stuff on the page so they'll want to click the "Share" and "Like" buttons so you can stop advertising and just let it take off!

The answer is actually yes and no! You can buy fans.....that are real people. They may be from all over the world...or you may get lucky and find someone offering targeted fans.

As far as the fans actually following or participating in what you are doing......not so much.
Unless your product or service is so mind blowing that it just grabs them.......and even then I bet you would be lucky to engage 2% of them.

A good place to look.....and cheap is at fiverr.com!

I second this! I have gotten 'likes' from fiverr.com for all of my FB fan pages, with good results, as far as likes go. I never expected any real interest in my websites from them, so I was not disappointed! I got likes for this reason, I would rather like a page that has at least 200 likes, rather than 2 or 3 likes! It gave my fan pages a good start-off boost.

Buying fans or likes from people is a waste of money and effort. A lot of marketers today look at the like and share systems in social media as if numbers count like they used to in back linking.

      They don't...

Likes from anonymous people who have no interest in your product and no friends to speak of, means you're not utilizing the real potential of social media and piling up numbers no one really cares about.

If I like or share something on FB, there's a smallish group of people, many of whom have similar interests that will see it. A small percentage of them will like or share it themselves, where all of their friends will see it. That cycle continues, but takes on a life of it's own...IF...the item is really worth while.

People who buy up likes like crazy don't seem to understand that no one sees them but visitors to their websites...and that assuming they even notice the little button with the count on it.

You're far better off encouraging your visitors to like you at that point, so that your likes not only grow naturally, but effectively.
Mike, I hope you're well - it's always nice to see your contributions, whether I agree or not, which I usually do. So I hope you won't think it unfriendly if I point out what I think is a contradiction. I am sure you are partially right about the money wasted on fans that don't provide a ROI.

But here is the contradiction: that nobody really cares about the number of fans you have, and at the same time a lot of marketers think the numbers really matter. If the latter is true, the former can't be.

If a lot of marketers think the number matters, then probably a lot of other FB users think that as well. If a lot of people think the numbers matter, then the numbers do matter, since marketing is all about influencing what people think, and ultimately, what they do.

As far as a lot of Warriors are concerned, it doesn't even matter if nobody else besides "a lot of marketers" cares at all about the number, because the most popular niche here is helping other marketers. So according to you, they have a positioning advantage in their niche if they have lots of fans, fake or not, since the niche thinks high a fan # is important.

Another way to look at it is this: when you get as big as FB, your word changes reality, in much the same way as markets tremble because of a moody quote from the chairman of the Federal Reserve.

FB thinks the popularity score is, in and of itself, important; so it is. At least, that's my opinion for the moment. Of course we'd all rather have organic fans, but the words "fake it till you make it", seem appropriate here.

Look, I don't think you need to buy fans.

    Why?

When Facebook gives you tons of tools to connect with people who will really "like" you if:

    A. You make it easy for them to
    B. You give them a reason to

Facebook takes care of the rest by putting you into the feeds of other similar people - who conceivably could be interested in what you have to offer.

    The problem....

It takes a bit of work to make it happen - taking short cuts in the wrong place will cost you time and money in the long run.

    The solution...

    Here's a little guide I wrote (4,655 Downloads already)
    "The Facebook Traffic Blueprint"
    Building Facebook Communities

That could help you get some real fans that will really engage and eventually drive traffic to your offers and products.

Shoot me a message after you've read it to go over some ideas.

There are various websites with FB fans/likes exchanges where you can also buy credits to use to purchase fans.
There are also a lot of people selling this type of gigs on fiverr and similar websites.
The fact when you buy fans is that even if you have many fans, they won't necessarily be responsive...

To give you some context, we were involved with getting a well known online brand to 1 Million followers in a couple of months. (cost of about $2 per follower)

Now nice to have a goal to reach that type of a fan base but truly if you don't have a goal beyond that with what you are going to do with that new fan base both short and medium term to not only justify that type of marketing investment but actually make ti a payoff for a long term company communication play then you are really wasting your time and money.

The businesses who do best are not the ones who focus on acquiring more followers but the ones whose main goal is what they do in terms on ongoing engagement and value to whatever size follower base and thus what that translates to in terms of the business ROI.

There is no real logic in getting 1 Million fans in and of it itself. If someone becomes your fan your posts become part of their news feed and so you can market to them and given ppl spend more time on FB these days vs. email, there is potential for ROI. There are also others things you can do as well. But unless you have a detailed plan both short and medium term around this aspect, the mere acquiring of fans is pointless.

I am looking for offers on sites which do NOT promise x number of Likes & Fans, but offer to promote our pages on their pages - I think that is a lot more in-line with what social media is about.

My business is located in TX and I came across an offer on Fiverr today from a TX based gig to promote our FB page on their FB page to their fans. If we get Likes, that would be great, but I am not looking to have my Fan page flooded with "meaningless" "Likes" because, then how would I measure my "true" reach?

    I hope that is helpful

Promote your fanpage through facebook and you get fans , its very simple.
But for getting all at low price you should target only the persons that have your keywords as interests and than use CPM not CPC.

People pay to get likes on Facebook. People pay to get likes on Fiverr. Sure people can get scammed on Fiverr just like you can waste a ton of money on Facebook ads. Either way, if you are inexpeirnced at Facebook you can waste a ton of money and same goes with Fiverr.

On Fiverr you can pay a person to invite or recommend your page to there followers, which in turn can get you followers if there crowd is interested in the page. You can do this with out Fiverr too.

You are not paying each individual person to like you as an incentive. You are paying for a service from a person that will post a recommendation on there facebook page.

When Steve Jobs died people had Steve Jobs RIP fan pages going getting tens of thousands of likes in the matter of hours with the help of Fiverr and paying people to recommend fan pages. And from fan pages they had built prior , which were also built from paying people to invite there friends.

Some of these fan pages were monteizing the page by saying "In the memory of Steve Jobs Apple is giving away 50 new Ipads". (link to ipad offer here)

Sure, its scummy way to make money, but there are other ways too, this is just a recent example of how people pay other people to recommend there fan pages and make money from the fan page.

You can purchase real fans but not quality fans.
You can purchase those fans which is not bot but it not quality which they are not interest with you and what you are sharing.

You may paid to youjizz.com, they can get you real fans in a short time but can't assume all is quality fans.

No shortage of sarcasm in this thread. I know you weren't addressing me, but I am a FB user, and I have never been offered money to "like" a page. Of course the answer to your rhetorical question is no.

However, I have been invited by people who might have taken money, and I have responded to some of the invites by clicking the magic button, because I sincerely did like the page they suggested, or at least wanted to see the offer.

The terminology shouldn't be taken too literally; we should all know by now that terms like "friend" and "fan", doesn't mean the same on FB as in real life. Obviously, few of your FB friends will attend your wedding or send you a B-day present.

By the same token, "fans" (a term we still use, though FB dropped it), of a page usually don't have quite the same level of interest as people who camp overnight in order to get tickets to your performance.

So even a sincere like wouldn't make me a "REAL fan"; certainly not in the way that I am a fan of Jimi Hendrix, for example (and he's possibly the only rock star I'd camp overnight for a chance to see live).

You can't pay someone to be interested in your website. When buying fans, the number is just a statistic. The only upside that I've ever seen is that it can make a page look like it is becoming popular, and therefore 'real' fans are more likely to Like your page. So if you're thinking of buying FB fans, only do it to get that early boost.

I think the cost of hiring people to be a fan of your page would be way to hi and on top of that, if there is a way to make money it will always be abused, thus you would end up with fake fans eventually again.

I'm looking to increase not just my number of fans, i also want quality fans who are actually interested in my website.

Haven't read the other responses yet, but it seems like you are asking something akin to going to a brothel to buy "true love"...

"If I pay you enough, will you like me?"

Seems you might have better luck with a dating model - like the big dating sites. 'We'll assist in putting you together with people we think are compatible, but after that, it's up to you..."

I am 99,99% sure that this is IMPOSSIBLE. In all the facebook like exchange websites you only get people that are NOT interested in your product... They will like your page, because they want other people to like their page... So, this is something very useless...
