Does backlinking free sites really benefit your money sites

Does creating some free sites like blogger, squidoo, or wordpress, and putting content on them, with links pointing to your money sites, and then back linking the free sites really work.

I have heard people mention it, but I never tried it. I have scrapebox, but don't use it anymore, because I don't want to get slapped, but if the free sites thing works, I might try that.

If it does work, do you sign up for the free blogs under a different name, than your domain names are listed with, or doesn't it matter?

    Ya mon, this is a GREAT strategy for backlinks because Google knows, likes and trusts these websites. Plus, they all have high PR and will be backlinks you can count on to be around forever and ever.

    My advise, go get as many of them as you freakin can!
