Why do I get different search results depending on if I'm signed on to my gmail account or not?

Hi All,

When I enter key words from my own websites they are number one on Google when I'm logged into my gmail account. The same keywords produce different results when I'm not logged into my gmail account.

I don't have to have a browser window opened viewing my gmail account, I simply don't "log out" of gmail and get different results than when I do log out.

Why?

Thanks Jeff,

It's exciting to see my site #1 on Google and a bit of a let down to find out why. Anyway, I'm still like #3 or 4 even when logged out.

I think I'll clear my cookies and see if I show up at all.

when you're logged in, or have a google toolbar installed, or use chrome... the Big G knows what you are doing

Funny, was just recently talking about the same thing here - http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...tml#post418036

Anyway, the short of it is that since they "know" what sites you frequent (such as your own, as a for-instance) they'll tend to bump it up in the rankings a bit, when you're doing a search for something that your site (or another frequently visited site) is relevant for.
