Hey,

So, I have some lists... in some nice niches...

This niche was to individuals who recently added extensions on to their homes. The niche has money... and lot's of problems with their town and county boards.

List Size: 2,200

So, I sent out an email discussing how to get around certain town and county regulations, and it was information to sell some forms that they can download and use that will help them get around these loopholes.

Professional Copywriter for Sales letter : $997

This idiot writing this post decided to forget the LINK!!!!!!!!!!!!
while sending.

What do I do to resolve, do I send another email saying forgot the link, how to I make it like I did not make a mistake.

Thoughts?

Thanks

You should freely admit the mistake. Pro marketers do this all the time - on purpose I think, to have an excuse to send a 2nd mail.

    Hey,

So, just email them saying that I forgot the link... should I reference the old information again, or just make it simple stupid.

What are you going to do, blame your email client or hosting processor for your mistake? Own up to it. It's better than looking like a lying idiot.

Don't try and hide it, just admit that your last email went out without the link and give it to them. Apologize briefly and give the link.

Accept the unsubscribes from the grouches on the list and count the money from the ones who visit and buy.

Don't invent a problem that isn't really there!

    Best,

    Brian

    No one's perfect man.

Just say you made a "bone head" move and had a few too many cold ones last night.

    People understand.

Just remember this anytime you come into these scenarios...

It looks ok, and I like the coffee reference, but don't apologize twice.

I agree with everyone else here... Tell them you made a mistake. We all make mistakes so it only makes you look more like a real person.

About referencing the information, you may want to just add it in as a PS... Say something like "In case you don't know what link I am talking about, here is the email I was trying to send you earlier:"

    Or something along those lines.

    Hey Guys,

    Thanks for the feedback...

I was going for a reverse psychology method on the LOYAL SUBSCRIBER part, this way they can say, "I am a loyal subscriber" and not hit the unsubscribe button lol

If you put the word Sorry in the subject many of them will likely click and read your email again.

Looks like you got it all figured out with the second email -- great!

    Just for future reference...

Don't worry about this sort of stuff. It happens. People are human. And other people understand. No one will even really care (or remember).

    Think of it this way...

Let's suppose you worked at a brick and mortar store selling... whatever. And imagine you were walking a customer over to some products in the store, when you accidentally stepped on her toes.

    What would you do?

Well, you probably wouldn't run into the break room and quiz all the other employees about how to handle it.

Instead, you'd just apologize on the spot and move on. And so would the customer (and she wouldn't give it another thought).

In other words, don't overthink this stuff and you'll do fine.

    Cheers,
    Becky

Man everyone makes mistakes, I contribute my recent successful blog to the fact I am myself, open and honest.. People respect that

Just be up front, make a little humour out of it.. Something like -

Ok thats not perfect but you get my meaning

Dont even fret about it, hey you might actually get more opens second time round anyway !!

    Good luck
