Number of PLR licenses

Hi, everybody.

I've been thinking about creating a website template and selling it as PLR. So, I was wondering what would be the best number of PLR licenses to offer for this type of work? Is there something like "industry standard" when we talk about website templates? I was thinking about 20. Does this sound ok?

Thank you in advance.

I think something like 50-100 should be good.

There are billions-upon-billions of websites, and if your templates on 100, it doesn't really make a difference.

But don't inflate it further. Would definitely affect the prospects' decision.

There is no hard and fast rule, but you need to balance the price of your product against the number of licences you will sell.

    So ...

Cost of Creation + Required Margin / # of Licences = Sales Price

    Good luck.

There are sites like template monster that don't put a limit at all on them. They have hundreds to choose from though. My blog niche packages are limited to 50 members.

When I buy PLR I do look at the amount of licenses sold. You need to make it worth your while however. No use spending a week creating a PLR package and being only able to make a couple hundred dollars from it.

If on the other hand it takes an hour of your time and you make $500+, probably not a bad investment.

PLR anything that has no limits becomes worthless. What is staggering is to still see people selling limited numbers of PLR, and then granting rights for the buyer to resell as PLR. What is the point of limiting it, and then letting it go viral like that.

On the other hand 20 copies would be loved by the buyers, but you don't have to go that low. The cold hard fact is that if you sell 100 copies, probably 70-80 will never see the light of day ... they'll sit on the buyers HD. Sad, but true.

Check out the most reputable PLR sites and you'll find sell quantities from 50-150. That's what the serious market has come to expect.
