What to do with my unresponsive list?

Hey,

I've been building my list for awhile now - everything is on the track so far.

However, I have a list of about 1000 subscribers from the very very beginning that I didn't do good with the relationship with them, and so, they have no idea who I am and what my emails are about - therefore the open rate for that list is not doing so well at all.

I'm just wondering, are there anything that I can do to not waste those subscribers now?

Appreciate your suggestions!

    How old is the list?

What traffic sources are you using to build the list?

How many subscribers do you add daily on average?

Do you think it could be that it's not the list but your offers that are the problem?

I built that list with ppc double opt-in form about 6 months ago and I'm pretty sure they are targeted with the niche, but they are from all over the world (not US only) ...Since results weren't good so I stopped running the ppc, therefore the subscribers are not increasing anymore..

I have offered them free info, free ebooks etc for about 5 straight follow-ups, I'm not sure if that counts as building up the relationship but after that I have tried out a few different offers (with affiliated links) and subjects - open rates and ctr are not looking so good...

What could be the problem here?

        Try to make it work..

And if it dont.. Just kill the list, and start over. It might sound like harsh, but sometimes, if it dont work- let it go.

I think the problem is the age of the list.

If it's 6 months old then it's pretty much dead.

Others may disagree with me... but this just comes from experience. My current list is over 60,000 subscribers just to give you an idea of where that insight comes from.

Do you think you can suggest me a 'catchy' subject for a MMO offer for a last go before I waste this list?

          thankss

I'm not saying you should waste it.

You may get sales time to time from it... but majority of sales come from brand new subscribers.

As for a catchy subject, the best e-mails that work for me are made up of copy that matches the sales page you're sending them to... Similar to how the copy of your PPC ad matched your squeeze page.

True...... I've never tried the one with the heading that got them to opt-in! You just got me thinking, thanks man.

No, I would agree with you.

There are a few factors which may be at play...

Firstly, if they are freebie seekers then they wil have moved on to the next free thing. They do not discriminate.

Secondly, we are swamped with emails and info, so unless you get them as buyers asap, they soon forget who you are.

Probably best to ignore them and move on, as they aren't opening or buying.

Sounds like you need a catchy, clever or shocking title to get at least one of your mails opened, then maybe a valued giveaway offer right at the beginning to get people's attention again.

    Then take it from there.

I kind of did give some valuables away - but for some reasons, open rates are still low, and no sales at all.

A catchy subject - maybe that's what I need.. but I've tried afew swipe subjects that I copied from those affiliate pages (with all the email swipes, banners etc)

And so, what I'd like to do now is do something to grab their attention again (hopefully), but I don't know how...

My open rates are always below 10%, ctr are always around 2-3% and no sales at all :/

    Hello,

Here are some suggestions for you

    1) Understand the problem of your list and try give them something for FREE mostly but make sure it has to be of a high quality.
    2) Do not concentrate on pushing product rather than keep approach of helping the.
    3) Give some special deals to you list so that they will feel special
    4) Try to improve the trust quotient
    5) Regarding catchy lines do something that will create a curiosity about your mail.
    6) Try to engage them in communication with you, the best way of doing this is using facebook & Twitter

I hope this will help you.

    Personal Offer For {firstname_fix}

Also bear in mind that the first 10 words or so of the body also get read as part of the title these days in most mail readers.
