I think I am missing something with my click bank links

Hi everyone,

Thank you in advance for your help. It has been quite awhile since I chose to promote a clickbank offer. It's been so long, that the last I knew the format was

http://affiliate.vendor.hop.clickbank.net

Needless to say I was delighted to see the advent of encrypted links, so now the format may be: http://245b4el5sk6nsg82nlpbr5176r.hop.clickbank.net/ (altered to an invalid link)

I was excited! Then confused when the said link resolved to:
vendersite/?hop=myid

Now? Am I missing something, or is that a very uncloaked, unencrypted link; that can be altered to include anyone else's ID?

I know that there are solutions to this, and I thank everyone's suggestion, although I am settled on a warrior's product.

I just want to do a little reality testing to make sure I'm not crazy, and this still remains an issue to protect commissions.

I think it depends on who you are selling to. That type of thing happens a fair bit with advanced internet marketers, but newbies have no idea what they are looking at so generally doesn't happen.
