Trying to learn about banner ads
I want to have some banner ads/web ads created for an ebook I am selling. I've never done this before and no nothing on this topic.
Do most websites and forums use standard sized ads as shown in this wikipedia article?

Most of the sites I will be advertising on will be forums that use popular forum software like vBulletin, etc.
I'd also like to know what the typical costs are for these ads. I'm going to need someone to create them for me.
