I think it's too much, I mean you are not teaching people how to make some great websites where the visitor will 100% give his e-mail/name. I personally can find hundreds of articles about that on the web, and that is also in my list for "To Do Articles" for my blog and I will give that info for free so. Just because its a video the products' price won't rise. 14.95 is a good price. Though if I were you I would charge like 10$ to 15$ for support-things like live/e-mail chat for one or two weeks.

maybe the 19-29 range would work. Even your price is not way out of line.

Alien, its not so much that you can't find info on it for free, there is value to the convenience of having it in one place and getting it right when you want it. Heck, nearly every single thought sold by a WSO or any offer can be found on line somewhere if you spend enough time looking for it.

Honest has a pretty good idea. The real money will be in the list you build. Maybe you can do a free version, then sell a whiz-bang upgrade for 20-40 bucks.

If you want to make money then giving your product away for free is not a good idea in the hope your list will pay off in the future.

The best thing for you to do is price test your product. Just split test different prices and see how well each price sells.

Why give your quality product away for free??? Nobody does that. Why leave money on the table? Stupid idea. Yes you may get a bunch of optins but they are all freebie optins. So you would be building your list in the hope that it may convert down the line.

A better idea would just be to have an optin form or pop up on your site so you can sell your product and collect emails, plus when you sell your product you can build your buyer list too.

I could give you a million examples why this works...but let's just say you are teaching someone how to build a site. For Free.

You recommend a good hosting....(thu your affiliate link...you get paid)

A good SEO tool.....(thru your affiliate link....you get paid)

A Video or article submission service? You get the idea.
If he doesn't want to make any money from his product then sure give it away for free. Or he could charge for his product and build a list at the same time, your saying he should give his product away for free so he can build a list. But he can still build a list and charge for his product at the same time. Therfore making it pointless to give his product away for free. That's called leaving money on the table. Which as marketers we never want to do.

He doesn't have to give his product away for free to build a list.

IMO the best idea is to price test different prices, and at the same time build a list through pop up or form, and at the same time he can build up a seperate list of buyers when someone has purchased from him, and at the same time he will be making money from his product sales.

You may notice all these product launches don't give their products away for free and they also have pop ups aswell, this is because actually charging for your product makes you money...
