    Yes you can show banners in WP...

    Most themes offer a fair amount of flexability as to which size of banner and placement location too.

      In that case, how could we know the themes which support banner ads?

        Just about every theme supports them, some just offer more options as to where they can be located on the theme than others.

        Yes you can add your own images as well. You can put them in the content that you post, side bars...etc etc.

        I would suggest you so some research on different themes and go check out wp.org, tons of free themes there with a lot of different looks that will allow you to do what your talking about.

    Yes you can. Some themes have built in banner rotators (like Socrates) - some, you need to use a plugin with.

    Take a look at this thread that deals with the same subject. There are a few mentioned that people are happy with. Hope it's helpful.
