Hie everyone,

l have been doing research reading e-book and watching videos on YouTube on how to make money on the internet. l even bought 2 products which l thought would help me but only to realize that the product were not meant for beginner because they were not straight forward they just told you what to do but not how to do it.

l am interesting in Affiliate marketing of Click-bank Products and Amazon l have already signed up as an affiliate.

While l was researching l was also getting paid completing surveys but it seemed like l was talking 1 step forward and 2 steps back because it took so much time and used to get paid around $2-$5 per survey.

One of the Products l bought a couple of month l don't remember the name of it but it was a software which posted answers on Yahoo Answers with your affiliate I.D but it didn't work so well as l expected even with the upgrades.

I'm sure l am on everyone's email list..lol l get bombarded with a lot of products every day and it's spinning my head already because of receiving offers every-time l hit refresh..

So your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks you

I posted the thread that was referred to above.

I got a lot of great advice in that thread. 2 things I did right away that helped me a lot (so much so I made my first 2 sales and now have too many people signing up for my list) 1) Take one of the courses you already paid for and start it over from the beginning - google anything you don't understand and stick with it.

      2) Join the War Room here! That was great advice. I learned a lot. But do not go crazy downloading everything that is free. Read it all and use what will help you do what you are wanting to do. (This is the only other thing you should pay for).

      Best of luck

One of the first things you need to learn is to use your own critical faculties. For example, review what you have learnt from your Yahoo Answers experience.

    Here are some clues:
Read the Terms and Conditions of any website you post on. I'm guessing that you will find that posting affiliate links is against the T&Cs of Yahoo Answers. At the very least it is likely to get visitors to hit the report abuse button.

Secondly, without knowing the product you bought, I would question how any software can effectively post your answers, when Yahoo Answers is intended as a place where you write individual, properly thought out and useful answers. It isn't meant as a place for you to spam your affiliate link and/or pre-written answers.

That's two lessons already. Make that three - the third being never blindly believe ANYTHING you read in a make money product. Use your own critical thinking to work out how YOU can use the method effectively and properly.

I guess you can see where I'm coming from. IM isn't meant to be about spamming and making a quick buck. It's meant to be about building an effective, sustainable, long term business.

If you opened an unlicensed stall on a street corner selling stolen/counterfeit goods you wouldn't expect your business to last very long. If you set up a stall in a properly licensed market, maybe helping out on an established stall to find out how to do thing properly, sold legitimately sourced products and treated your customers well, you'd expect your business to last.

Before you start you should have an idea about which area of marketing you'ld like to master. Last but not least, the intention should be to build a sustainable business and replace your existing income source.

There is no point in starting a job that you'll get bored with after only a week of practising.

Everything you do or intend to do is combined with paying for a mentor, be that thru e-books, video or whatever.

Many people starting out in this jungle have no idea in which direction they're heading and this is the main killer. They purchase one product after another and end up with debts, bits and pieces of information and are totally disorientated due to the overflow of information .

Here are just some of the areas of IM:

    CPA
    Amazon
    Domain Flipping/rent
    Mobile marketing
    Facebook/social marketing
    PLR
    Website creation
    Product creation
    SEO-Backlinks-Traffic
    Offline promotion via online marketing
    Video Marketing
    Graphics
    Advertising
    List building

and many more categories and sub-categories!
IM is about selling other peoples products or selling your knowledge or physical products. Either way, each one of the above is business in itself and has to mastered

You have to find where your strengths lay E.G.

Sport, politics, entertainment, health and know what you are capable of doing E.g

    Copywriting, Graphics, Programing.

You also have to know where your weak points are, this will give you and idea of your necessary investments.

Once you've sorted that out, choose the area and MASTER IT.

By NOT knowing who YOU are, what YOU can do and how much time and money you can invest, you'll end up buying 100's of promising products, starting but never finishing them and a somewhat uncooperative bank manager.

Once you've found a concept, ask as Istavn suggests here in the forum for further help.

    cheers

Tigerwar !!! You are EXACTLY right ! I am proof of your description of a "desperate newbie". I have spent appx $2000 or more on all sorts of products..WSO's Membership sites, Software and so on. Alot had to do with the State of Mind and or my financial situation at the time of purchase. As a result of all this .. I still have not made a dime online. I have every intention on doing so.

Hi, I have recently started with online marketing and it's certainly an interesting field to get into, with a lot to lear, and it can be quite daunting with all the options and tools available!

If you have a website with your affiliate links on it, how are you driving traffic to it? With mine, I'm blogging based on keyword research from the Google Adwords keyword tool, and also I'm writing articles. Traffic is growing slowly, but it is growing!

    Good luck with your endeavours.

    Kind Regards

    Hello,

First off, congrats on wanting to learn more about affiliate marketing. We can understand where you are coming from because we were once there as well. We have been on the internet for about 3 years now and have generated a healthy yearly income from the internet by not having a website at all. This year (2011) we launched our first website, online-money-today.com. We did this because while we were taking cash (literally) out of the internet we wanted to become something more. The Hell Brothers Enterprises, LLC was once just us racking in money off the Internet. Now we have been getting alot of questions from friends and family how we do it. Thats when we started our website. We wanted to provide everyone a great starting point to get started with affiliate marketing. It's got a "getting started page" and plenty of resources to use to make money online. Check it out if you would like.

Thats a little about us and how we started. We know all the products out there and we have invested in many and all it did was let us down. They would only give us part of the whole affiliate marketing process.

I was going to tell ya, if you don't want to recieve all those offers, you can unsubcribe from there list. Just if you didn't know.

Anyway, affiliate marketing is a very profitable business model to get into. But...you must know and understand how to do it. There are many components that you need to learn before you really begin. Matt and I went to the library every day to learn more about different areas of the business such as traffic generation, marketing, sales, etc.

So first, I advice you to learn everything you can and act on what you learn. Its better to have something out there while you learn instead of waiting to learn it all and then act. Because you will always be learning as the internet changes so fast.

Second, you will have to choose what your budget is. Matt and I spent a lot of money to get started that we didn't have (loan) but you have to realize that your "risk" is in equal with the potenial of the money you will make. So if you risk a little, you might end up with a little. I am not saying to be stupid about it, but you will either have to risk your money or your time.

Always remember that if you treat your business like a hobby, you will get hobby like results, if you treat it as a business, you will get business like results.

Next you will have to figure out what avenue you wish to go down. For example, you can create a website, post ads on other high traffic websites, create a blog, PPC, ect. There are many ways to make money online. Never ever be narrow minded with the internet. Its huge and full of possiblities. Think out of the box and you will succeed. And never give up! You WILL make money in time, the only holding you back if you are not is your knowledge of how to make money online!

I hope this helps, feel free to drop by our blog to learn more! We really want to help you out and see results for all your efforts!

    Cheers,

Hi I am a newbie in the field too, but I think I am a bit ahead of you. The best thing I ever did was find a good tutor. It did take me awhile to find one and I was very lucky that she was good. So my best advice is to find a tutor.

I have been doing nothing but learning for 1 month. I got 98% of my knowledge about Afilliate Marketing from Affiliorama.
You'll learn about every stage of the business and most useful of all, you'll understand all of these random abbreviations like PLR and Traffic Travis, etc that you see posted on this forum.
This is what I did. And now, I'm searching for a backup niche since the ones I'm actually an expert in don't have any money in them.
Anyways, try it out, it's free and If you want a tutor, look for one in between Affiliorama lessons.

My advice is to generally avoid any techniques that begin with "auto-"

I promise you'll be more likely to succeed if you learn how to 'manually' market your products. Everyone loves the promise of easy, instant auto-success but it's a pipe dream for most people IMO

It sounds like you have been making lots of effort to make things work. Unfortunately you've gone down some wrong paths, leading to frustration.

Put these experiences behind you and investigate the many options for starting a real online business. Perhaps the easiest for you would be affiliate marketing, as it has low startup costs, and low risks.

I'm sure l am on everyone's email list..lol l get bombarded with a lot of products every day and it's spinning my head already because of receiving offers every-time l hit refresh..
If your mailbox really is that blitzed, why not open a new webmail service such as Gmail, and start fresh. You will also need to be very disiplined in not signing up for lots of free offers, putting you on even more mailing lists.

    Good luck

    2) Use Google, and the Warrior site to get as much free info as you can and start putting together the basics.

    3) Most importantly, find a good mentor.

It's sad to say but newbies like you are exposed every single day. "Make x amount of dollars in x amount of days!"

    Look familiar?

First of all you need to unsubscribe to all of these lists, unless they're offering you great information about twice a week, instead of emails on the daily that are promoting something. You need to clear your head.

Find a mentor that has actual results and stick with that person.

And like Istvan said, if you don't know something..ask questions on the Forum!

The Warrior Forum is your friend! There are obviously a few rotten apples every where you go but here on the forum, if you aren't providing value for anyone else and are just negative, you'll get called out and will get the boot!

So stick around here on the forum! you're in good hands!

Dude you need a mentor with a PROVEN strategy.

I went and met my mentor in person and that helpped me feel more comfortable signing up

Definately agree you should get off all those lists. If you stay on the list DON"T BUY. Instead look at HOW they are marketing to you and Learn and copy ahhah!

I'm Learning from Alex Jefferies. He has a new ebook that is free - google it. I have a review (and affiliate link) on my blog if your interested or just google him. But remember if you get his free eBook it will put you on his LIST - I feel he is genuine but then I am biased.

So I recommend you ask around and ask on here who other people feel you could learn from who are trust worthy and have a proven method.

Oh yeah and RESEARCH before you get into anything. This is easy but takes time (but will save you heaps of time in the long run). Simply go on to google. Type in keywords in the niche you are interested in and look at the blogs (AGAIN DON"T BUY - just LOOK at what they are doing and how they are doing it) and keep typing in different keywords (eg if they are advertising a program - type in that program name + 'review' and look at all those sites).

Very quickly you will get an idea of the market, industry, how people monetise it, and what you might like to do... I wish i had done this first before anything else!!!

    Goodluck!!

      The War Room
      No It's Not All Free!

A great example of overselling with inaccurate descriptions.

When you pay to join the War Room, it's true that some of the information available is free - but not all of it.
The War Room is mainly made up of WSOs. Some are free and some are heavily discounted.
So you can either buy more WSOs at a discounted price, or subscribe to get WSOs at a lower price.
This is not knocking the War Room, just trying to give newbies a more accurate description, so they don't start feeling pressured to buy even more stuff.
In my view, the best information is here, in the Main Internet Marketing Forum.

Best advice? Find one niche and one method and stick to it like glue until you have figured it out. One of the best guys I follow is Tom Ness. Search for him on the forum and read everything he has. He is young, works like a dog and is good at teaching newbies how to make money online.
