What is the most effective way sell products online??

Hello,

I was just thinking about this recently and it seemed like a great discussion for the forum. I know there are a lot of powerhouse marketers here and would like some feedback as to the most effective way to sell products online through use of a personal website.

So, I ask of everyone here...what has been working for you personal to make more money with your business by selling products through your own website?

Well, a product is going to grow its demand and sales if and only if its a quality product. In other words if product is good in quality it will last long and others will disappear

already doing that, SEO for me is a no brainer. What I want to know is the best way to get the prospects to buy from my site. See, I can land a site on the front page of google organically with one hand tied behind my back but that does not mean it will create sales. My questions goes for how to make the sales?

I use the internet, in part, to help grow my offline business. I help build trust by offering onsite services and the internet to offer free or reduced products that compliment what I do offline.

In my strictly online endeavors, I use a signup form to gather a list and I offer great value, free items. Continue to build relationships and genuinely care about those who are interested in your offerings.

It's not enough to want it... you have to want it enough.

It's early days but I'm having some success with affiliate links on my personal website. I'm focussing a lot on SEO to drive traffic to it, as a low budget start up strategy. Google Adwords is also a good option.

    Kind Regards
    Helen

People generally do not buy anything the first time. Maybe 1 in 100 do. So for the other 99, try and offer them something so that they get on your mailing list. Then you can slowly develop a relationship with them over them through email. This will get you to a point where you can ask for the sale and they'll be more likely to respond because of the relationship you've built with them.

You haven't mentioned what types of products you're selling.

For me personally, I actually sell physical products on two of my sites that are custom ordered and shipped. I've found that article marketing and link building via reciprocal links with related sites, social bookmarking, forum profiles and web directories to be increasing my traffic and sales.

I also recently started doing some PowerPoint video "commercials" but it's too early to say how that's helping. Each new video I upload to YouTube is shared on the social bookmarking sites and posted to Facebook, MySpace and embedded on my website.

But again, that's for my particular business.

Two ways to improve your conversions...

        1. Drive your prospects to a high value freebie to get them on your list and then come up with a highly effective email marketing campaign. This is NOT trivial - it took us years to modify and improve our email marketing sequences to the point where they were more effective. It has to do with how you communicate, what information you share and how you offer them proof that your products work to help them achieve their ultimate desire.

        2. Be crystal clear about the value your product offers to your prospect. When they land on your sales page there should be a well architected sales message (written or video) that grabs their attention, walks them through the emotional ups and downs of the pain or pleasure you are selling to and then offer them a unique value toward achieving their desire that is perceived as extremely high value.

To get to this point you may need to go back and drill into the conversations your market is having online, hire copywriting help and split test different pages or email sequences to constantly improve them.

Believe it or not I've made the most money just selling on Ebay. I had tried to make money on Ebay for years and was only marginally successful. But once I found a good drop shipper my business really took off. I don't think you can make enough to have a good living online without using a drop shipper. I started using www.miamiwrangler.com last year as my drop shipper and it's been very successful so far. Good Luck

This sums it up real well.

The best way to sell products online is to Build Your List!

It is proven that it takes sending the same person an offer 5-7 times before they will consider to buy from you.

Through email marketing, you can develop a strong relationship with your prospects which can then make them a continuous buyer for the products you promote later on in the future.

Google is the best way to sell product online. Have some extensive keyword research related to your product. After that, do the SEO thing. Make people see your website through organic searches.

This is the problem like I stated before...Getting a website to the front page of google is not an issue for me. I can do that with ease organically. I am very familiar and have all the tools needed for a full blown SEO campaign as I have done it many times. The point is, just because your website hits the front page of Google, it does not mean sales will be generated. I have learned this from experience and am looking to further my marketing experience by learning sales techniques to embed into my websites. I own about 25 domains and about 140 subdomains; all uniquely configured for different strategies in my SEO campaigns. I have learned tricks from EBay as well on how to generate sales.

In my opinion, the most effective way to sell products online is create review website with good landing page, where every body can view reviews about products before deciding to buy your products or affiliates.

    There are many ways.
I sell software through a company specializing in software sales and promotion.
The software gets picked up in magazines around the world.
I sell video training courses through my website via a DVD fulfillment service and also on a teaching site called UDemy.
I also see e-books are sold via my site and Amazon.
10 years ago I sold via ebay.
There are many different ways to sell products and you should pick the best model for your business.
