For my 100th post I thought I would help the newbies with some ideas for making their first IM dollar, including explaining how I FINALLY succeeded. First, you must understand I was a perpetual failure. My first three attempts at promoting Clickbank products netted me nothing. My first attempt at creating a Clickbank product was rejected by CB. My first five PPC campaigns netted me losses of $300 (yes, technically I sold some things, but I lost money). I failed, failed, failed again. And again. But what I gained was experience. I learned the details that you don't learn from the IM products you buy. So lesson number one is to try SOMETHING. If you are low on cash, I recommend article marketing to promote your product. This is valuable experience that will help you learn keyword research and how to write converting copy. It will teach you how to avoid browsers and how to find buyers. It is free training. For me, it took nearly giving up. By chance I struck up a conversation with a gentleman who ran a local hobby shop. He was disappointed at his internet results. Even as an IM novice I could see many things he was NOT doing. I explained some ideas I had for him, including product demo/repair videos, a blog, newsletter list, and an improved eBay presence. He was spending $1,500 / mo on PPC with Yellow Pages. I agreed to do everything for $1,900. He accepted. Within about a month his video was driving users to his blog and newsletter list, and his newsletter and eBay ads were driving new customers to his website. He experienced a net profit of $3,000 within 60 days. He now puts his videos behind his opt-in and occassionally one on eBay classifieds. He is totally focused on his newsletter list. It drives most of his business. So I made my first IM dollar by learning from my mistakes and helping a brick-and-mortar business with that knowledge. Chances are you know someone who owns a business, or a salesman with a product he needs help promoting. Start there. You can grow your business with someone else's money. Now I have my own websites I promote and make money. Each one makes a little money and I mainly use article marketing. Some still fail and I have to bag them, but over time the number of the successful ones grow and the combined income is great. You will not get here overnight. Give yourself time. YOU CAN DO IT. |

congrats, failure is the first step to success. Some times you have to fail many times before you hit the target. The most important thing is that you learn from your mistakes. |
