INTERNET MARKETING

G'day,
I am new to this side of the internet.
I am curious as to how you come up with your ideas for sites.
Also, if anyone knows of any blogs/sites/ebooks discussing how to best get into the Internet marketplace, that would be much appreciated.

Hang out in forums like this one and watch what people bitch about.

Like someone will ask a question, maybe "How do I put this thing I like on my WordPress blog?" - and someone else will give them a long and complicated answer.

Then fifty people will go "THAT'S STUPID, SOMEONE SHOULD MAKE A PLUGIN FOR THAT."

Hey presto, that's fifty people who would buy a plugin for that!

Or maybe someone is having trouble putting a buy button in a WSO thread.

Hey, if you wrote down the instructions for that... people would probably buy it!

These ideas are everywhere. Just listen to people's complaints.

Mine are mostly 'spur of the moment'. Listening to Power Ballads in the shower is my frequent meditation.

I think most people's ideas are typically just variations of someone else's. I remember some famous writer once said "everything we are is only the result of everything we have ever known", I assume that includes our ideas.
