How to let affiliates embed their code in my pdf?

I've got a free report for affiliates to give away that presells my course. I'd like to know what I need to do in order to allow them to put their own affiliate links inside. Or I'd be happy to do it for them, but I don't even know. Do I need rebranding software of some sort?

I've built the file in Adobe InDesign and from there I export it to PDF. Hyperlinks work fine just by doing that, but of course the affiliate's link is something like https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php...=ib&aff=181175 and I want it to just appear as http://skipthescams.com/course-page (just examples).

Thoughts?

I'm pretty certain it's the same concept as how you can embed a hyperlink in words behind forum posts... like the one in your signature.

I remember doing the same thing with free PDF makers like Primo, but the links came out as the URLs or just wouldn't work... I had to get Adobe Acrobat to insert them properly.

If you get the affiliates to do it themselves though, you probably won't get as much interest... no one likes effort :p

.... hope this helps... I might be totally off track though!

Yes, maybe I should be doing it within Acrobat rather than directly from InDesign - I'll see what I can figure out. Thanks for giving me the idea!

Happy to help Laura, best of luck

Mr. Horvath seems to be better at this than me though :p

There are two methods to do it:

    a) online - there are sites where you can upload your material and the affiliates fill out a form and their aff ID will be added in the final "product"

    b) on desktop - you prepare a "branded" and "signed" version of your PDF and give it to the affiliates together with a small piece of software... and they do it on their own.

    Laura,
One online site that provides rebranding is SimplyRebranded - Ebook Rebranding Made Easy
I haven't actually used it myself, but it came recommended from another warrior. Looks fairly comprehensive! Good luck!

The only question I have is that when I test the links, I get the question whether I trust the site and want to allow or block. Is there a way to avoid that?

As far as I can remember that "question" pops up in any PDF reader. It is NOT your link... it's the PDF reader's default behaviour.

Okay, that's kind of what I figured. Thanks!
