Avoiding negative feedback on Fiverr

I am selling gigs on Fiverr and business is doing great. I am "Rated: 100%" - have never received any negative rankings.

But what if a customer leaves negative feedback for one of my gigs?
I guess my "Rated: 100%" will become "Rated: 99%" or so.
This is not good, right?

I have a customer that is bugging me with ridiculous requests. I explained to him politely that I'm not gonna do business with him anymore but the guy got pissed and just ordered a gig form me.
I sent him an order cancellation request and i once again explained to him that I'm not going to do business with him (using some polite excuse) but he rejected my cancellation request- obviously he placed this order with the sole intention to leave negative feedback.

My question is: in case that I receive negative feedback from this person and in case that my "Rated: 100%" drops down to "Rated: 99%" because of this, can I just delete the whole gig that he left the negative feedback for? (the gig happens to be one with very low activity - it has only 32 sales and I have no problem deleting it)
In other words: Would deleting a gig that has a negative ranking in it get my total feedback score back to "Rated: 100%" again?

    I'm doubtful that would work.

But anything above 98 is still pretty good. I would still use you. Anyone can get a difficult customer. Most people understand this.

I'm not 100% sure of this, but I think that your feedback rating is on the account, not individual gigs. You might possibly have a case with Fiverr if you explain the whole situation and what you believe the customers intentions were. On other words, they might could delete the negative feedback under those circumstances.

Call me crazy, call me a creepy maniac, but I would never buy from anyone who has less than 100% positive feedback.
This is why i try to keep my own feedback at 100% and dropping down to 99% would KILL me emotionally.

A quick additional question: can you block buyers on Fiverr like you do on eBay?
I don't want this person to be able to order from me anymore.

Fiverr has this customer is always right principle. This is perhaps why they don't allow you to decline buyers even if you have a long queue. There's nothing to do if you just ignore him and reply with a negative feedback when he leaves a thumb-down like "I told this customer I'm not doing gigs for him anymore, but he insisted." something like that. Most buyers bother to look at feedbacks, especially the negative ones. So it would help if you provide them with an explanation.

Just make more sales with positive rating to increase credibility.

First, similar buyers enjoy giving a negative feedback with or without a reason,

I advice you just to ignore him. Fiverr unfortunately mayn't be a lot of help

I would contact Fivers admin and inform them of the situation, they can probably block the user by special request.

State this case to Fiverr and not to the Warrior Forum. Explain what you just explained here and tell them that you do not want to do business with this bloke. (Sometimes I talk like I'm British for fun.)

Even if the guy does give you negative, you get a rebuttal right underneath it....and when I look at gigs and I see that someone just looks like an ass and there is a good rebuttal, I'm understanding

A rebuttal cannot solve the problem.
No matter what you post in your rebuttal, your profile's 100% rating is still going down - and this simple number is the first and only thing that most buyers check when they are purchasing.

I would hope that doesn't work because if it does, then we are being lied to quite a bit about how successful a gig is

I say just make sure you never give bad service, that's the point of the feedback system. Of course there may be a jerk here and there, but we all know how that works. Seeing 99% on a gig doesn't cause me to suddenly go, omg, scam!

I do however scroll down to see the post by the "-1%er"

This is exactly what bothers me.

When ordering, buyers are going for the 100% score.
If a seller's score is not a perfect 100, this grabs the buyers' attention and they start looking for the reason for the bad score.
And thus they end up reading only the negative comment(s)!

Conclusion: having a perfect 100% score is vital.

How do you refund customers on Fiver other than sending them a mutual cancellation request? (which I already did and the customer rejected it)

I had a similar issue. I contacted Fiverr Tech guys and explained the situation and they got the feedback removed so quickly. So I propose, in this case to open a ticket.

Remeber, the fiverr guys pay their bills too because of positive feedbacks. The more the positive feedbacks, the more the orders and the more money they make. So they will do anything to improve sales except you are really a blackhat method guy

Deleting the gig seems a little drastic to me, especially if you have postive feedback from all your other buyers!

Probably best to do what you have already done: Don't work with that person.
However, if you want to give them a chance and they do leave you negative feedback, at least you can comment underneath it and explain yourself to any other potential buyers.

    Hope this helps!

OP you sound paranoid. Just forget it until MAYBE you get a negative.

Look at all the time and energy you wasted thinking about this already.

It is the same on Ebay and every place that has a rating system.

You say you have quite a few gigs and have a 100% rating. I have to wonder why all of a sudden the unreasonable concern over a POTENTIAL for a negative rating.

So do I, considering there's hardly any way (unless there is?) to accurately keep
track of how many potential sales were lost solely because a 100% rating wasn't
achieved. Some of the featured gigs don't even have 100% satisfaction, yet they
are all currently making money still lest they wouldn't be there now.

It's very easy - because (even potential) negative rating is... bad. Makes sense, no?

You have no idea how right you are - I am VERY paranoid and I am one of those people that like to work on problems so to prevent them from happening, not wait for the problems to happen first and and then start wondering how to fix them.

Perhaps make two accounts or even 3 or 4 all offering the same gigs.

Or as others have said above don't worry about it. If anything happens then contact Fivver to dispute the negative rating.

It's hard to avoid certain buyers. I've had similiar situations selling on Amazon and Ebay. I've always had 99.8% feedback. If you sell enough, you just can't easily maintain 100% because some buyers are impossible to please.

You can't beat yourself up over it. It's unavoidable in my experience.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy from a person who has 98 or 99% feedback.

I think if enough people request it, Fiverr would eventually implement a feature that allows sellers to block nasty buyers.

The ability to block assholic buyers is one of the few good options on eBay.
This should become possible on Fiverr too.

Lol, I just got one and I myself decide to choose 'force cancel' button. Client insist to see asp pages work on php hosting and order my service without ask first. I'm still proud with 98% feedback score and enjoy it ;-)

    Hello,

Not sure if deleting a gig would do it but it seems logical as the feedback is per gig.

The down fall would be starting over with no feedback unless you have some friends to jump start the gig and get some fast.

I think fiverr needs to do a better job explaining the person gets a bout 3 bucks and has to wait 14 days to get paid. This is just a basic service for a gig don't expect a full blow out marketing campaign, or what ever the gig is for.

I moved a barcode and the persons photo from the middle of a amazon book cover just little lower. He supplied a jpg image of the cover so had to do a little more work than just a psd file would have been. Job done... deliver Two days later he said the cover does not meet the amazon spec can I make the cover meet the spec... order another gig for this... he did not want to order another gig and thought I should do it under the move the bar code gig.

I said that is a new job it needs a new gig... you know what happen next he gave me bad feed back saying I was trying to get him to pay more for his gig... I don't do complete work blah blah blah...

I contacted fiverr support gave them the order number said the original gig is to move the photo and bar code.. job done and got neg feedback...

They said it was upto the person to remove the feedback to contact them to work it out.

I did nothing would not answer my request.

I contacted fiverr said look I have well over 125 feedbacks all great and I make fiverr money... How much money does xxxx make you? Remove the bad feedback or I'm moving and you will lose money.

They removed the bad feedback in like half hour.

Stand by your guns don't let customers bully you into doing more work then they paid for.

If you got neg feedback and can prove you did the work fight it, they will remove it.

    Hope that helps

    Richard

I was terrified like that when I got my first negative feedback (Due to late delivery) after selling 100+ gigs.

One of my Gig suddenly went from 100% to 95% and I thought I will never gonna get any buyers again.

But frankly speaking, I kept getting the order in the same rate which I used to get. So do not freak out or delete your existing gigs that are doing well for you. But try to give your next buyers a better attention and make sure they give you bet of reviews possible.

Also in case when I am buying a gig, I always check negative feedbacks compared to positive. If a guy is having 50 positive reviews and 2-3 negative, I would still go and buy the gig.

    ^^ Whoa.

I was writing about fiverr feedback on another thread, and it's becoming such a systemic problem.

You'll see a great service at 100% one day 99% the next, you go check the feedback and see a ridiculous feedback. The seller then responds to the feedback and states everything was done correctly and doesn't understand why there was a negative feedback. Most of the time, this is the end of it, negative feedback with no merit.

Check the services that user who wrote the negative feedback provide. I've seen many times they have a related service and can't compete so they put others down. It's sad, and Fiverr should look into it. Happens in SEO too.

I also got my first negative feedback on fiverr today. Will this affect sales? I dont think it will. You will still have your regular buyers that knows the quality of your service. You will always find someone that you just cannot please! If I find someone very picky with a gig, I rather request cancellation. All the extras are not worth the $5. And larger orders can come with their own headaches.

Is there any refunding option to the certain client? if yes, you can refund the amount to the client, after getting negative feedback. when you refund his money, the feedback will vanished. It is the rules of most of the freelancing sites.
