Selling my website on Sedo, advice needed

hi everyone,

I never sold on sedo before, i got a good domain student-discounts.org and i decided by now that i should sell (i don't have time to work on seo). Moreover, if it sell, i probably better use that money to invest on my other websites.

I need advice from sedo experts, should i go for an autcion ? i saw some crazy prices over there and i hope to be one of them lol.

Should i sell it now ? or go with an auction ? what price should i start with ? should i put reserved price ?

I also want to make sure I will not loose my domain on sedo for free. I know the safe way to sell on flippa to use screw payment, but sedo doesn't go with that.

Is transaction through sedo are safe ? any expectation how much the domain worth.

Appreciate your help.

    Hi onegoodman,

It's better to set a price than leave it to offers, because of the basic fee they charge you in that scenario.

More info on their charges HERE

    In reality, this is unlikely.

    Sedo is safer than Flippa.

    Yes.

No, there's no way of answering that question. I've sold a few domains on Sedo but I wouldn't recommend paying to upgrade your listing, in my experience it didn't pay off.

I sold mine by setting a price, parking the domains, then playing a waiting game, then negotiating once offers came in. You may have to wait for some time to get a sale on there.

      Thanks ExRat,

I tried to park the domain for a while, the reason i considered selling it not much traffic (I haven't done much seo work).

I did consider featuring it, but thank you for your advice that it doesn't help, i will not waste money on that.

Again, thanks for showing the fees, Sedo seems worse than Flippa when it comes to money, these fees are

It is cheaper to list it on ebay I would probably had more potential sellers by now

I used flippa several times and to that's the best place to sell websites.

Sedo transactions are very safe. They are handled exactly like escrow with a sedo rep handling the payment and transfer. It's a step by step process and they guide you through it. You cannot lose your domain selling through Sedo.

Hi...Have you considered parking and selling through Afternic?

If you park & sell you earn 5% Cash Back off the net sales price and they offer SEO-friendly/optimized template choices from PPC to mobile and even direct-to-advertiser with a "for sale" link still on the page (I don't think that anyone else does this).

So, bottom line: you don't need to do SEO work--you can just park, price and wait for the sales team to get your name sold.

BTW: membership is free, and there are no up front listing fees. Domain transactions are secure--and if you elect DLS Premium you don't even need to worry about a lengthy escrow process as names sell via "Instant Transfer".

Good luck in selling the name!

You should also list your domain on Afternic. Afternic is just as popular as Sedo and equally safe.
