I used to mass-submit articles to 1,000+ directories ... before I knew any better. Like many professional article marketers, I completely abandoned the idea after some serious testing. At the time I did so, I didn't even understand all the reasons why it had no real value for me - learned those only later. I'd been a bit too keen on "taking action" and not keen enough on "understanding what I was doing", with the result that quite a lot of my early actions were pretty misdirected ones.

Typically, a surprisingly low proportion of your 1,000 will actually be published, and gradually indexed over some weeks - possibly even months.

There's typically virtually no traffic benefit and virtually no backlink benefit, either: even before Google's major algorithm change, earlier this year, devalued article directories so much (as even their owners have so openly been saying), authors of standard SEO textbooks were explaining that one would typically need tens of thousands of these non-context-relevant, PR-0 backlinks to confer the linkjuice equivalent to that from one backlink on a relevant authority-site. No exaggeration.

As Nicole wisely observes above, this is time that can far more usefully be spent attracting some targeted traffic. Or, even if you insist on looking at things only in SEO terms, at least trying to get some backlinks of some real value, perhaps by doing some guest-posting/guest-blogging/commenting on sites relevant to your niche.

It depends on how fast the spiders crawl them. Typically, the better article directories get crawled more frequently. Some may be indexed by the end of the day, while others could sit there for weeks.

I have to ask, though - are you really submitting to 1,000 article directories? There are so many that never get any traffic of any merit that the odds of people actually finding your article on them are very low. If you're looking for more exposure, why not take the time you would have spent mass submitting and look for some guest posting opportunities?

It is totally depends on the content and link that has been submitted by you. So use unique content to describe, What is your link is about?
