[Just for fun] Gotta love these FAKE testimonials!

1) Find a crappy car insurance site like this one: http://shopgreenclub[dot]com/

2) Open another tab with Google Images

3) Drag a picture of a "satisfied customer" from the car insurance site to Google Images search field (here, let me do that for you: Google).

4) Be amused!

(Turns out Lisa from FL has been rather promiscuous with her testimonials and may also be doubling as Jane from Utah )

For me this is really the seedy side of IM (though looking at their SEO efforts I doubt the owners of these types of sites are getting anywhere much). I think most of us would welcome stricter laws where this sort of thing is concerned.

There was a 20/20 TV report on internet scams that spent a lot of time focusing on web site spokes-actors, ya know, like the people in the commercials sponsoring 20/20, they seemed to blow it a bit out of proportion, it's the second video here:

"Real customers don't normally have the time" to give testimonials - ha! Or they won't cos they think you suck!

Anyway, you can only do so many of these fake testimonials before people start recognising you around the net!

Also it is VERY hard to "act natural", especially when it's from a script. That's how you know all those asides on American Chopper and those other reality shows are actually scripted. The intonation almost ALWAYS gives it away.

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

Only you guys are smart enough to Google these pictures.

What is the difference between a fake testimonial and a TV commercial with actors?

One is saying they're a customer, and the other is not. The second is clearly a paid spokesperson.

If you paid an actor to outline the benefits of the product, do a proper pitch, etc, and the actor never made any claims about their own results or said they were a satisfied customer, and there was a notice that this was a paid spokesperson...

      All good.
