INTERNET MARKETING

How do I embed a YouTube video into a message when I'm the thread starter? For some reason I can do it just fine when I post a reply to an already-started thread, but not when I'm the one starting the thread.

It's odd. Anyone have a work-around this and/or an explanation?

BTW, this is internet marketing related because I'd like to be able to use internet marketing-related videos from YouTube to aid in learning/questioning along with the written word here in the forums.

I'm kinda new to this forum, I would like to know about this too.

From some others forum I joined, they used the things called a "bbcode" to embed the youtube videos.

it's something like this
Code:

[youtube] youtube link[/youtube]
Don't know if this forum allows this too. I can't post the link yet, because not enough post count

yeh depends if they use bb code or html. unless you copy the html link then use the bb code like this:

[html] (html code here) [/html close brackets

Well, it's simpler than that, guys.

Just put the link of the video in. BAM. No code or anything. Just the URL of the video.

BUT, for some reason when you're the thread starter it doesn't work and only shows the hyperlinked text version of it. It's just odd - not a big deal - more of a curiosity.

The other day I posted a new thread and did the typical copy /paste YouTube video link and it only showed up as the link not the video. I thought maybe it was my browser so I cleared my cache, history,cookies,etc and still only the link showed up.

Mysteriously a few days later I could see the video embedded. lol

Go figure...

You have to click "embed media" before posting if you're thread starter, pretty sure.

  No...doesn't matter. Try it for yourself. Read my post above on how it works.
  
  EDIT: And just for your info, "Automatically Embed Media" is checked by default always anyway.
