Ebay - is it worth it?

Hi

Does anyone sell CDs of ebooks on Ebay and does it work in this format? If you do, do you know of a good automating company that will put together the CD and distribute it for a low cost?

Thanks

Slick

There are a few companies that do that kind of thing:

Kunaki -- CD/DVD manufacturing and publishing service is a popular one and integrates with http://www.discmojo.com/index.php

as for "does it work on Ebay" I have no idea I have never done it

    thanks

Actually, I know several Platinum powersellers that sell nothing but CD's. People just don't want the same old info that everyone else is selling.

The only problem is Ebay's new policies they have put into effect in 2008 and 2009. They are now telling you how much to charge for shipping even if it doesn't cover the actual cost to ship.

Selling CDs on eBay is extemely lucrative. I sell investment CDs and self-improvement CDs.
Stay away from the IM niche, though, unless you have a lot of time to waste.

Ever since ebay took off the selling of digital products I dread the company :/

  • I don't think it would hurt to test it out. You can put a digital product on a CD for practically nothing using a computer equipped with a CD burner, and if for some reason the product doesn't sell on eBay, you can always try and promote it using other methods, such as Clickbank. In other words, if you don't try, you will never know!

You can buy an eBay Classified for $10 and can sell whatever you like (within reason) including digital products. It is a great way to build your list. Your ad will run for 30 days and you can also build a search engine friendly backlink into your website. It also works to sell physical products through standard auctions.

There are sellers who are successful with CDs only. As mentioned before stay away from the IM niche.

    Let me just say, YES.

It is well worth it if you have the right product, that is the key. It is the same as it was before Ebay changed to the CD format, if you sell the same old RR products that everyone else is, it does not work.

The same people who said you can't make any money selling digital downloads on Ebay are mostly the same people who will tell you you can't sell CD's either. I cut back on how many products I sell after the change, but it still works.

One product alone makes me a consistant $1,000 per month with this method, so don't believe people who say it doesn't work because people want it instantly and won't wait for it in the mail.

The key, like I said is having a product that people want and not just picking some generic RR product that everyone else is selling.

By the way, it is very easy like stated above to just start out with burning your own CD's and mailing them yourself. Even if you get a 5 pack of CDR's with cases it is only going to cost you like $3.00 so you won't be out much at all to at least try it.

I have experience selling jewelry on ebay but not info products. I plan on putting together a package on CD/DVD, listing it on ebay and see how it goes. I'll let you know what happens.

I think it would be great to try and do a trial! You can create a digital product on a CD virtually no cost by using a PC with a basic CD burner, and if it wasn't selling in large numbers on eBay, you can develop it through Clickbank to market it and sell to potential buyers. My advice would be give it a try and see what happens!

I don't think it's worth the effort, you could make much more by marketing an e-book outside of eBay.
