Host website's images with flickr?

Hey Warriors!

Have any of you hosted your website's images with flickr before? My website is loading a little slow (and it's pretty image and video intensive)...so would hosting images at flickr help? It seem like a free CDN almost?

Anyone tried this? Is it fast, reliable, ...good idea?

I'm not sure but I think that Flickr can and does sometimes lock and image once bandwidth is exceeded. I know I've seen this when people post pics on forums or use a flickr image as their avatar.

Why not check out Amazon's AWS? Very cheap and pretty reliable. I'm not sure if it will help your speed or not. You can also try caching if you're hoping to improve speed. With a WP blog it is easy but if you have an html or php site you might have to get a little help.

    Hope this helps!

If anything having flickr host your images will further slow down your website. Have you optimized the images? I would not rely on Flickr a free service to host images, this is a case where you are likely to get what you pay for ;-)
