Banner display ads for airline industry

Hi there!

I have a second round job interview tomorrow at a digital agency. In advance they've asked me to prepare a brief detailing five websites a short haul, European airline might want to advertise.

I have to recognise that:

Target Audience: Men / Women - 20-35 Flying to Europe

Target territory - UK only

Live dates - March/April/May 2012

Budget - £500,000 for 3 months

Now finding relevant sites and getting some basic data on justifying that choice isn't too tricky. Alex.com and sites like ispionage have offered some interesting and pertinent insight into who uses different sites and their respective search engine ranking etc.

It's allocating my budget that is proving frustrating.

Thus far, I'm thinking of using three big players in the affiliate travel marketing sector: tripadvisor, skyscanner, and ebookers. To mix things up a bit, and in a way, think outside the box, I want to include a popular online newspaper like the guardian (utilising their travel pages / guides / articles) too. Then, perhaps allocate a good portion of the budget to Facebook advertising, arguing the specific targeting as highly rewarding.

Is there a tool available online that will give me some insight into helping budget my spend across the five sites? I don't need exact, exact figures but something to at least allow me to make something of an informed judgement.

Additionally, a tool that would show me where a company like Easyjet, Ryanair, or a similar low-cost airline typically DOES place THEIR banner ads would be fantastic!

Alternatively, if there is anyone on here that could offer me their thoughts / advice / insight into the brief, it would be greatly, greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Jonty
