I'm Going To Put A Video On Youtube But Need Opinions/Thoughts...

Hi all,

This is going to be the first video directly related
to sending viewers to a page to buy but need a
little assistance on most effective way to do it...

I obviously know that I should include the link in the description
to send them to the page to purchase but do you also use the
captions etc. to also push traffic or is that too invasive?

All input is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Why not do a test and see what works.

Upload two slightly different videos with
    different titles.

One with the URL just in the description and
the other using your second plan.

Send them to two subdomains/urls in your site containing
    the same salespage.

Then monitor your views and traffic referred to your
two sites and see which one is better.

First of all, if you're going to use this for traffic generation, you need to put some usefull information in it.

A good tactic is to have your video in two parts. Put some good info in part 1, but end it with a question you'll answer in part 2. Have your website URL as the final freeze frame of the video. Put part 2 on your website - you can still have it hosted by YouTube, but you can use the setting where it's not listed on the YouTube site (I forget what they call it now) so people have to go to your site to view it.

If you have the part 2 video on a squeeze page on your site, you can get prospects onto your list and presell them on your product/service.

Makes sure your video offers some REAL value and is not just a tool to get clicks.

It should be funny, absorbing, basically you want this video passed around as it has more chance of becoming viral.

Also the link you are sending them too i.e your blog or website should answer some question in the video.

Then in your description what I normally do is put the URL first and a clear explanation of how the site will give them MORE value.

    Works well for me...
