Article Advice Needed....

I have confusion (imagine that) about submitting articles.

First, if I create an article (which will include an anchor link back to my site), it seems the feedback has been to submit it to many article directories. Is there a service that does a great job that doesn't break the bank?

Second, if I create an article and get it posted to all the article directories, won't it be duplicate content? This is my confusion. How can I have an article posted to all the article directories, get the link back to my site, but not be harmed by duplicate content?

Thanks
Slap

Duplicate content isn't a problem when the content is on different websites. Duplicate content on the same website could be a problem.

In case of duplicate content on multiple websites, the search engines usually ignore, but do not penalize, the copies of the content that came later.

It might be worthwhile to spin your article before submitting it to multiple article directories (not for backlinks but for search traffic using different search terms).

If you do a lot of article submissions, a service such as unique article wizard could be useful. They do have a monthly charge though.

As Kul said, just take your unique written articles after you finish it, spun and submit, if you have enough time/money, then get a unique article per submission!

You really should try spinning your articles very well...
However if you don't want to do this, you can always outsource it to someone who will be willing to write for you at a very cheap price.

Here are some points which make you better understand the duplicate content:

    1. The same article can’t be used many times on your site over and over again.
    2. One article can’t be used for different keywords to manipulate search engine rankings.
    3. One article can be submitted to hundreds of different sites without any penalty.

So, just don't worry to submit to all of article directories. Meanwhile, like everyone said, spinning article is a good choice.

This is ridiculous. I'm sure Alexa will be here with 15 links, but until then I'll say this: spinning or submitting a unique article to each directory is a complete and total waste of time. It has been proven dozens of times that unique articles make no difference. A backlink is a backlink.

I'll let Alexa do it too.

It does amaze me though just how many completely disillusioned people attempt to give out article marketing advice here and the way they do it as though they have a clue what they're talking about.

Incidentally, she's not the only one getting tired of it, which is why I rarely poke my head in and bother correcting people when another bunch walk in.

Best to get on with what works and let those that wish to make their lives harder and do things because they imagine things are a way they are not, just carry on as they are.

Thanks for that vital bit of advice, I'll be sure to keep it in mind.

Oh, how I agree. Every day (almost), someone starts a virtually identical thread, but not only that, equally as many people respond with bad, completely misleading responses. Doesn't anyone here who offers "advice" read prior threads on the subject?

I can only suggest you go back and read this thread, and this one, and this one.

I have been article marketing for quite awhile and spinning them will help for sure. With the new also changes Big G made who knows if you will get them ranked. I got crazy from it as i would get lots of traffic, then after ranking well the article would disappear even when i was backlinking the article.

It's like pepole just keep popping in and spitting out the same nonsensical advice.

Even Alexa's replies have been getting extremely short lately.

Hardly surprising either, she's wearing her keyboard out.

    Hey Slap,

I believe duplicate content only hurts you if you have it on your own site. Having the same article appear across all of the directories won't - that's one form of syndication and it can be a good thing.

There are also way too many article distribution services to list here. However, you may find what you are looking for in the Product/Service Reviews section of the forum.

Also, you may already be aware that one of the article marketing experts on here is Alexa Smith. She has quite a good bit of info on the subject. In fact, she may even drop by to offer her suggestions.

However, if you'd like, you can find out what she teaches by visiting this link: http://www.warriorforum.com/search.p...rchid=11480229

    Some of the subjects include:
    • The truth about duplicate content
    • Should you post to EZA first or your site
    • How to syndicate your articles
    • Article spinning
    • Much, much more (!)
    Hope this helps,

    Jeff

LOL ... there's a continually changing proportion of information to misinformation in these "basic question on article marketing" threads, isn't there?

"The feedback" is often pretty poor advice, though, I'm sorry to say.

You can do that, certainly, and there's no downside from doing it, but there's very, very little benefit, in terms of either traffic or backlinks (these are non-context-relevant PR-0 backlinks).

One thing which is certain is that you may as well use the identical article to do this, rather than spinning/changing/altering it each time (or using software or an automated service that does that), because the link-juice value of a given backlink from a given page is not improved by being attached to spun/changed/altered/unique/original content rather than to "another copy".

If anyone tells you that "spinning" your articles will help, I strongly suggest you ignore that and anything else the same person might also tell you, just in case all their advice comes from the same "urban myth school" of internet marketing. And if you want to know more about spinning and can be bothered to read a 4/5-page thread, all you can need to know about "spinning" is right here.

Nice easy one, here: the answer is "no, it won't".

Duplicate content and syndicated content are two different things.

By not having any duplicate content (which you won't - you'll have syndicated content).

    So you won't be harmed.

But you won't benefit much either, because those backlinks aren't really worth having. Especially these days.

In other words, you can "get the link back to your site", but it won't help much: 100,000 of those "backlinks" and $3.50 will get you a cappuccino at Starbucks.

I think this post will help you and it contains links to 6 or 7 other threads which will, between them, answer most of the initial questions you're likely to have about article marketing.
