Cheap .co domain names?

I want to register a .co domain name and the cheapest I can find are $18 Namecheap and Godaddy. Do .co's ever go on sale?

    Not recently from any decent registrar I've seen. They were on sale through Godaddy when they first came out. Now they're somewhat expensive.

      Hmm, I see what you mean ... they are a bit expensive, aren't they? On the other hand, I've just found that .me domains, which I remember costing around $20 at one time, to register for a year, seem to be $7.49 now (at Namecheap).
