Best free email opt-in popup for Wordpress?

Having a lot of difficulty finding a good email opt-in list builder for Wordpress.

I tried FasterIM which is TOTALLY useless. All it does is provides a pop-up, you have to do all the backend programming which is not what I'm looking for.

I personally like the WP Subscribers (paid plugin) created by Jenni here in the Warrior Forum. Not sure how much it is now, but I bought it a while back in a WSO for $37, I think?

  If I can't find one soon, I'll just have to program one. It shouldn't be hard - pop up window, take data to PHP, PHP stores in database. In WP, display data.

That's a bad plan...

It means you are going to use your own host's server to email your "list" and soon (as the list grows) you will face lots of troubles. Just saying...

There is a reason why people use AR services.
