Moneybookers cheaper and better than Paypal

Hi,

I have never used moneybookers and did not know what they offered. I just completed a ecommerce site for a client that sells clothing and looked into different payment options for the client.

At the end moneybookers came out tops as I phoned them and they were very helpful.

There rates start at 2.9% for 0 -1000 euros and drops as you trade more. Transfer fees to you bank account is a flat rate of 1.8 euro per transfer and they also have ewallet which is a few cents cost per transaction fee.

Also the best part is that when you do a sale no need to register with monebookers to pay. Just a simply page to enter you cc details and you return to the merchants site. There is no charge for that feature as well as I know with paypal you have to pay extra to have that feature

To get the above rate you have to use prestashop but even without prestashop the rates start at 3.5%

You can setup prestashop to do digital download as well. They do take a few days to approve you account and the site have to be fully working but after that it is a breeze

Though some people might want to know

Ye, I like moneybookers. Shame crappy old paypal has the monopoly.

They also saved my ass by offering a debit mastercard, when every other bank told me to go and ****e.

I'm on a carrer break from work, and when I needed to renew my card, they wouldn't, as I wasn't in a 9-5 job.

So, after digging, found moneybookers mastercard.

Reccomend it to anyone who's been turned down for a credit card.

I have both...but I prefer Paypal for the main reason that everybody pays me with it....Most of my CPA networks, customers, and clients all prefer paypal. And their support has always been good to me also.

And most of my customers prefer using PayPal.

Is the thing that is best for my business the cheaper payment processor or the payment processor most people are willing to use?

I suppose if you into digital and im products then it is wise to use paypal. We however sells a lot of tangible products and one thing that worries me is all the accounts that get shutdown with paypal for no reason.

But I will also use paypal but will be offering moneybookers and paypal in some cases together.

Right. On another thread today about payment processors, I made a similar point. I think many marketers, in their desire to get away from PayPal, are losing sight of the big picture...it's SALES.

Some of these payment processors I've never even heard of, moneybookers being one. How many average customers, not IM junkies, are going to automatically complete a sale with these entities, as they do now with PayPal?

....I have the same concerns about PayPal as every other seller, but it's not just about finding another processor with lower fees, it's about CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE.

Works great and has very good support, both from a client and seller angle. Immediate transfers to and from bank account is one reason I like them.

Moneybookers is a bigger service than many might think but the thing is, Moneybookers is mainly a EU thing.

I don't know about other consumers, but I have never heard anyone talk about using Moneybookers as a payment processor for legitimate products and services.

The only folks I have heard speak of Moneybookers have said, "If you are an American, and you want to gamble online, then you need a Moneybookers account to be able to purchase gambling credits online, since you cannot use Visa / Mastercard to buy gambling credits at an online casino, as it is against the law to do so if you live in the U.S.."

As an American, you only use Moneybookers to get around American laws concerning online gambling.

If other consumers have the same impression of it as I do, it will be difficult to get people to open Moneybookers accounts to do business with us.

Looks like moneybookers is planning a big update for 2012. They're rebranding to Skrill. Does anyone have more info on that or what the update is about?

I also believe moneybookers is much better than Paypal, as it charges less and gives best service without any tough rules as paypal has.

the only problem with that is not everybody has moneybookers, but what makes this work is a service called payspree which allows people to pay with PayPal and if you want you can get paid to your moneybookers, alert pay, or paypal account

I would think that far more customers are willing to pay by PayPal, and that's what really matters.

My own experience of Moneybookers' customer service (which may be a little out of date, by now - maybe they've improved dramatically?) lends altogether new meaning to the words "painfully dreadful": 10 days to reply to an email marked "urgent" used to be absolutely routine.

You are right. Their customer service is not very fast and proficient. They takes a lot of time to reply an email.
It is not getting much exposure as Paypal. I am sure, if it grows bigger, it's customer services will get better. It has got great potentials to beat paypal in the race and people will love it.

Moneybookers is horrible. I just opened an account to pay a WF member for a website.

I did nothing but open the account. Didn't add a bank account, NOTHING.

and 30 mins later the account was frozen lol

Maybe that is why they bought the domain name moneybookerssucks.com as a pre-emptive decision in anticipation of complaints.

If you don't like Pay Pal ok fine I get it but just use Google Checkout of Amazon. These little companies like Moneybookers(in relation to Google and Amazone) are a complete pain in the arse.

I think even though moneybookers is very competitive in transaction fees and processing fees. But i do think paypal is still the world's top class payment method which most people love to use.

Really? I thought I looked into Moneybookers ages ago, but it seemed I don't know - kinda peculiar? With so many Paypal horror stories (and since we rely almost entirely on funds I have there) I've been wanting to look into other options that were just as secure and 'acceptable'.

They are definitely more better than the paypal. I have been using them for some time and dont have an issue with them.
Too bad that they still dont have a widespread usage. They could beat Paypal anyday.

      Hi People,

      I have questions about this;

I've heard (in europe),that paypal now pays out after 7-21 days, when you have ship the ebay item and send them the parcel tracking number- is that right?

Does paypal makes this for all IM (affiliates or marketers who offers own internet service or seo, article writer and so on) or only with ebay sellers?
So ebay seller who wil build a business with dropship and have no capital they will dead on ebay.

Does skrill make such same things? Or does skrill always payout my money promptly within 1-2 days (bank transfer) ?

      best wishes and happy eastern
