High CTR

Just wanted to know if anyone knew if a theme could make a difference in adsense ctr? or does it depend on the niche ? also with the adsense placement is it best to use the adsense heatmap or change it around for each niche?

Im about to rank first page for 15 keywords with one of my sites one keyword is ranked #5-#9 keeps bouncing up and down between them and that keyword has 8100 exact local searches with a cpc of £1.80 but not getting much traffic as first spot or second is when you see the difference.. in total once on first spot i can assume with 40% of the traffic i will get 15,000-20,000 visitors each month

So i just want to make sure when i get to first spot im not leaving any money on the table theme im using now is simplefolio but have come across magazine basic which has a fantastic layout but im not getting much traffic with my sites at present so cant really make a decision on what will be best could some one advise if a theme can give you CTR or is it just best to wait to i get traffic and tweak it to get maximum CTR, if there is a theme thats best for adsense could some send me in the right direction

    CTR can be a factor or both factor of ad relevancy, ad placement and quality of traffic. It doesn't really matter on the niche so long as it's not a freebie niche like 'Free Online Games', you'll notice people who monetize with those kind of sites always have low CTR because of the type of traffic.

    Teenagers who use those sites aren't interested in adverts no matter how relevant they are to the game, there just there for the game and that's pretty much it.

    Just split test and move around ads, do 30 days of one ad position and then do another 30 days of another and see if you see any increase in CTR.

    One theme I would recommend if you're interested is CTR Theme, it randomizes the position of the ads on your niche site so to prevent ad blindness to one or more ad location(s).

    Maybe something worth checking out.
