Hey,

I dont' know the true answer to this question, but do know you can set up custom permalinks if you want so I'm sure it can be done.

I know for sure you can set it up to look like:

http://www.domainname.com/long-article-name/

there maybe a plugin for the .html but I can tell you first hand with two years experience that Google does not care about the .html extension.

My pages with the above format get index lighting fast and appear in top results for many keywords.

Sure,that's no problem with Wordpress.

try this as your custom permalink structure :

/%category%/%postname%.html

I agree try that structure. If that doesnt then /%postname%/ will do just fine. My blog posts get indexed just as fast.

if you can put html on the end I'd do it. There are still some search engines that assume html is static/hand edited. Apparently...

http://www.contentboss.com - automated article rewriting software gives you unique content at a few CENTS per article!. New - Put text into jetspinner format automatically! http://www.autojetspinner.com

PS my PM system is broken. Sorry I can't help anymore.

You put the .html in the settings when you set it up all my permalinks are .html and you can edit it from the admin at any time.
