A question for a wordpress blogger....

Hi,
I have just bought a domain, with content- the format is like this:

http://www.domainname.com/long-article-name.html

What I am looking to do is rebuild the site using wordpress- My question is can the permlinks/set up to appear as .html ?

    I dont' know the true answer to this question, but do know you can set up custom permalinks if you want so I'm sure it can be done.

    I know for sure you can set it up to look like:

    http://www.domainname.com/long-article-name/

    there maybe a plugin for the .html but I can tell you first hand with two years experience that Google does not care about the .html extension.

    My pages with the above format get index lighting fast and appear in top results for many keywords.

    Sure,that's no problem with Wordpress.

    try this as your custom permalink structure :

    /%category%/%postname%.html

      I agree try that structure. If that doesnt then /%postname%/ will do just fine. My blog posts get indexed just as fast.

        Without the category will also work

    if you can put html on the end I'd do it. There are still some search engines that assume html is static/hand edited. Apparently...

    .html will work fine in posts but not pages

    Here is a plug in you can use to also have .html on pages
