I want to try Evergreen Niche

So really not much luck, so I thought about purchasing a new domain name today. I kind of wanted to try the Evergreen niche, in dieting maybe, but I am really curious if I can see results with a .info extension.

So I thought before I made any moves, I would come see if I could get some advice from you all.

So anyone willing to share some advice in this? Please be advised also that I can not display google adsense on the site since I have been kicked from the program in the past.

I was thinking new domain with some information on it. Mainly only promoting one affiliate program. Creating a specific lens on squidoo for the site and its information to help drive free targeted traffic. Then I run into a blank on what else can be done.

Forum marketing is great for ever-green niches. Why? Because there A LOT of forums you can utilize to drive targeted traffic. Enter this into Google:

    Keyword + Forums

And if the niche is truly ever-green you'll be presented with plenty of options. Always check the FAQ's and Terms for advertising sig policies and ensure that they are active boards.

I personally stay away from .info domains in terms of trying to rank in the SERP's.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

Thank you so much for that information. I will keep it in mind.

Yeah I know .info isn't the best, but I know atm they are on sale pretty cheap.

Something I've seen written a lot on this forum (which impresses me to no end) is the importance of first focusing on providing VALUE before even thinking about making money (well ok, you should obviously try to make sure the niche you are in at least has the potential for money-making, assuming it's not just a fun project). Evergreen niches are great, but tend to be so saturated that you really need to set yourself apart, and make sure you find a way to serve your target audience to the best of your ability.

Are there any evergreen niches (or sub-niches) you are really drawn to? Are passionate/knowledgeable about? Could imagine yourself putting a LOT of time and effort into?

The above sentence doesn't exactly get me fired up and make me want to check out your site! LOL (I am teasing). I think you really need to flesh this out a lot more. I personally love using mindmaps (Freemind is a great free program) - lets me take a seed idea and really expand and plan things out.

I might personally avoid .info domains if you are wanting to build up any sort of authority site. It tends to be associated with general spamminess (that's a word - honest).

Anyway - i have little doubt there will be plenty of others with great advice, so I'll leave it at that for now!

How about trying health.. especially choose something embarrassing health related problem people don't want to talk about in public. That will help you rank easily and will get you niche targeted visitors who are suitable for conversion say it adsense or for affiliate products.

Yeah I was kind of leaning towards HGC/HCG or whatever it is called. I'm not too healthy though myself lol...

I agree with hanandaner. A desperate buyer's niche in the health area
where there is embarrassment at even mentioning the problem.
They will often seek solutions online in order to avoid talking to anyone
      about the problem.

Thanks for all that nice information. Well my interest vary, and I honestly can't think of a general area I am liking. I enjoy learning, so think I could become more passionate about something as I learn more about it myself.

Fortunately, as an affiliate marketer, you don't want to put adsense on the same page that you are marketing products on because it drives people away from your site. Evergreen niches are cool, but I prefer .com domains. I think they just look more professional, especially if you're going to be building a large niche site to establish yourself in a particular industry.

Weight loss, dating, and make money are the big 3 billion dollar niches, but I know Squidoo is really picky about what and how it allows you to promote stuff. I've actually had stuff on make money and dating on there, and they both got taken down once Squidoo revamped stuff in 2009--even though they got tons of traffic and had good ratings. I also know Squidoo doesn't like having a bunch of articles on losing belly fat and stuff, either. You might wanna try Hubpages instead.

    Good luck,
    Joey

.info work as well as .com, .net and .org if you do the same SEO as any domain that you are trying to rank.

I think this thread is probably about all you'll need to allay any potential fears on that point, if you give it a careful read through.

    Good luck!

Thank you Suzanne and Alexa. I was just about to look this up. I've never bought .info's yet, but I had heard the "controversy" before with no definitive conclusions. Thanks!

Health niches are great, emotionally they have good pain points for the sufferer.

One growing market is low testosterone or male menopause. Aside from drugs their are limited options, so people are readily on the internet searching for answers.

Stats say 40% of men over 45 are suffering it. I've had good success with this product which already has a great affiliate program all set up:
