The Truth About Running A Successful WSO

Almost everyday I read about how you can make a fortune running WSO's. Is it ready possible? The short answer is yes. The problem arises when newbies think that all they need to do is create a product, write a sales page, pay the WSO fee and watch the money roll in.

Unfortunately it doesn't work this way. I'm subscribed to many, many lists. Whenever I see a really popular WSO that has loads of sales I usually get a minimum of five or six emails about it.

Why? Because these marketers are using the WSO affiliate program right? Not entirely. How many marketers do you think will go into the affiliate area and choose to promote an unproven WSO with very few sales from a warrior they've never heard of? Not many.

There is no secret sauce to running a successful WSO. Most of it is common sense, all you need is a

Great product
Great sales letter
Great price and
TRAFFIC!!!!

The way these successful WSO marketers are making money is through...

1. Their own list - this gives them good stats to attract affiliates to promote their offer.

2. Joint venture partners who promote their stuff, usually because they have a bonus on the thankyou page that you need to signup to their list for to receive, this also increases their stats and attracts more affiliates

3. To a lesser degree, any other traffic generation methods at their disposal.

If you run a WSO without a list, without joint venture partners and without any other profitable traffic generation methods at your disposal the chances of hitting a home run are extremely slim.

On the plus side you'll most likely break even and make a very small profit, and if you're list building you'll put some more people on your list so the next time you run a WSO you'll have a slightly larger list to promote to which will potentially increase your sales.

Rinse and repeat this and over time you'll make more and more profit.
The point I'm trying to make is this, running a WSO is an excellent way to generate a good income, but don't think you can just throw up a WSO and make a tonne of money. It just doesn't work that way. It takes time and investment.

      No, it's so that you can easily add graphic enhancements. The forum only allows you 10 images per post, plus it's easier to position elements in graphics software (you can't use CSS on the forum)

    I would also like to add how powerful testimonials are when running a WSO. They provide social proof that can be the deciding factor when potential buyers are on the fence about a product.

      Yes, but people would prefer the testimonials to be real, not paid ones.

        Huh? I'm confused. Did someone mention anything about paying for testimonials?

        I don't see where he said that they had to be paid testimonials - but I agree with you.

        Testimonials that feature a person gushing over the product and using buzz words do nothing to boost the product since they're obviously written by affiliates or people doing favors.

        Sincere testimonials by reviewers or purchasers that talk about the actual benefits of a product, and how it might help a potential buyer, are the ones that boost sales.

        Honesty is always the way to go.

    I've spent quite some time researching successful WSO sellers. The vast majority of them:

    1. Have a solid product mix (many of them have OTOs or some other back end).
    2. Build a list.
    3. Have their JV partners in place long before they launch.
    4. Have their testimonials before they launch.
    5. Have sales copy that converts.
    6. Test different headlines.
    7. Bump their WSO at different times of the day to reach the half of people that are awake when they are asleep.

    I'm so sure what you mean by draft. If you're talking about testing what the sales copy looks like then there's an area on the forum for test posts, you can do it there.

    If you mean can you actually submit a draft copy to the WSO forum then the answer is no

    Couldn't agree more, most of the big boys and girls send out a few review copies first to get testimonials before the WSO goes live.

      Thanks, I tried to explain it in a way to make anyone who's thinking about running a WSO realise that it's not a way to make a quick buck if you've never done it bofire
