Are You A Jedi Master ?

I started internet marketing about 4 years ago and like many others I bounced from one 'HOT' idea to the next. Following the latest guru trends and always believeing that the next idea was going to deliver the jackpot.

How wrong I was !

I realise now that this approach is flawed. Yes it gave me a broad knowledge about all the different aspects of IM but it didnt deliver the $$$$

So What Changed... About 1 year ago I decided to...

FOCUS ON ONE TRAFFIC SOURCE AND BECOME A JEDI MASTER...

And that was it....this was the turning point and I started to see significant results.

You cannot make money online without targeted traffic. So the key is to learn how to get that traffic.

Of course you could learn about all traffic sources as I did before BUT the problem with this approach is that you are a master of none.

So my advice if you are new or struggeling to make proper money is to....

Pick one traffic source that...

a) You are intereted in
b) You have the financial resources to persue

What do I mean by 'interetsed in'....

You need to enjoy the medium. So for example if you are going to use PPC as your traffic source then do you enjoy split testing, optimization and so on.

What do I mean about financial resources...

Some traffic sources are free - they just require effort on your part to build traction like for example Twitter. Others like PPC on the otherhand require a budget. So if you dont have any seed money you CANT persue this as your traffic source

Its taken me a long time to start seeing significant financial results from my IM career. Many years of bashing my head against the proverbial brick wall. So if your feeling that way I have 4 pieces of hard won advice.

1. Dont Ever Give Up
2. Take Action everyday
3. Keep learning, testing and optimizing
4. Focus on becoming a Jedi master of ONE TRAFFIC SOURCE

What are your thoughts ? What is the one piece of advice you would share that has made all the difference to your IM career

I definitely subscribe to the idea of FOCUSING on one thing at a time (as hard as it can be at times), and see the value in your particular approach since it works for you - BUT I don't necessarily think that it applies to everyone. Diversity of traffic can be valuable as well (but again, getting good at one source before focusing on another is a decent approach).

What's made a big difference in my OWN online career, is ignoring the people who say you need to "go for the money" not the "passion" - and just generally becoming a more disciplined person.
