Can I sell a Blogger site with a Custom Godaddy url?

My site is powered by blogger and registered domain with godaddy. I see people saying that blogger owns my site and I can't sell it so I'm now confused.

I want to sell it. How do I do this and How does one determine the value of a site so sell anyways?

And another thing. Does anyone know how to get logged into godaddy after registering your domain? I was never sent an e-mail from them so I don't know my login info if there is any.

Yes I'm a total newb so plz be nice

    Hi

If a company bought blogger tomorrow and the first thing they did was delete all accounts without warning and shut down the site, for example to re-purpose it, would you be able to recover your site and set it up on a new server?

If so then you are okay and probably should do that before selling.

If not, then your business is at risk.

With your own domain, you have an asset of some value. But if the content, files and admin of that domain's site are sitting on a platform you don't have direct access to (like blogger) then that could cause problems.

As for godaddy access, contact their support and they can help you pretty quickly.

In the future I would just setup a wordpress blog on your own hosting account. As for the blogger account? I'm in no way shape or form a lawyer (DISCLAIMER!), but I would just go ahead and sell the blog anyway if someone wants to buy it. Don't think of it as selling the actual blog, think of it as selling the domain name and ACCESS to the blog. You're selling them exclusive rights to the username and password. You're not selling them the actual files that make up the blog because you don't own them. Of course you probably won't get as much for it as you would for your own wordpress blog since the new person will be taking on the same risk. Just something to think about. Once again, I'm not a lawyer and it's possible blogger could get mad about this, but it doesn't seem very likely that they would even know about it.

    Hi,

I've always said this - "whoever owns the domain name, owns everything".

Your blogspot is a sub-domain of Blogger.com. Mahlon is right - if Blogger decided to take away or delete your blogspot away, you've nothing against that. FYI, Blogger.com server did clash and they even given me an apology email on that. One sorry but all my 8 blogspots on my account vanished. Of course, they do backup, much only managed to recover 3 of my blogspots.

My 2c advice is to migrate it to your own hosted WordPress. It's pretty easy though. Then you'll truly have ownership.
