Be Careful, the War Room may Frustrate your plans

I joined the Warrior forum not too long ago and I just recently started participating. When I'm new to a block, I like to first get acquainted of how things work. So just yesterday I was reading through the forum and one of the first things I read about was the reviews for the War Room. Many people had something good to say, mostly about the forum having so many free resources, and that is really encouraging. But it makes me wonder about how that can help and hurt people (especially beginners who I'm always concerned about), especially after reading this thread warriorforum.com/main-internet-marketing-discussion-forum/120107-war-room-its-plot.html .

Okay to drive my point home for you, my elder sister's dream just like mine is to become her own person by creating her own income and Internet business is one of the ways she is focused on to help achieve that for her. Only God knows how much she has actually spent buying one product or the other. Sometime ago she spent over a thousand dollars to buy a product on Copy Writing and it was shipped to her. But till date (about 2 years if not more) she is yet to go through the product. And when she bought the product she was so sure she wanted to learn copy writing and use it to her benefit. After buying the product she became interested in something else, and ignored that. And she kept buying. And now I don't even think she's sure of where to start. That's what too much information does.

The negative effect of information overload

Scattered an already well laid out plan

Causes procrastination

Can prevent one from taking action

Makes the task in front of a person seem overwhelming

Can make some people give up the dream entirely thinking it's just too much

Is the War Room for a Beginner?

A beginner wants to learn how to make money using the internet as a tool because he or she is looking for an easier, less involving and quicker way of making money and hopes making money online will provide that. And then they sign up to the War Room and find out so many materials. Some will be happy, download, read and take action. Others will download, save (or bookmark) and promise to come back to them later but never do. And some others will completely get scared off.

I know you may think that, 'well, the internet is not for everybody', which is true. But we are trying to help as many people realize the potential the internet affords then and that they, just like others can do it.

From all I've read about the War Room, I personally think it's a place to be, but I also feel it could hurt some people, many actually, hence this post.

When is Information enough...

Beginners are not the only ones at risk here, some of us who've been around for sometime still get affected at times especially those of us who believe in following gurus. You sometimes find people who have been focused on achieving a certain success and then they read something new from a guru as been the next thing, and immediately, they drop everything they've been doing to start that thing they've just read about. And most times it doesn't work out for them.

The purpose of this post is to help people with information overload, so when do you say I've had enough information?

In one sentence, when you have enough information that you need for the task at hand.

Does that mean you shouldn't read an information that interest you because you're working on something else? Of course not.

What I do when I find something that interest me that doesn't help what I am doing at present, but that I would like to test out sometime, I

Download it or save it to my computer

Then add it to my project plans note

I also attach a time I'll like to read or work on it in my projects note.

This way I can focus on the project at hand, and still advance myself

Tips for Beginners Online

There's no easy way to succeed, whether offline or online, you still have to put up a lot of work. But the advantage of doing business online is that once you've put good work upfront, you can earn money in the future without working so much any more.

As you will find there are many ways to make money on the internet, get acquainted with the major ones and then focus on one. Achieve succeed in one first before looking into others.

If you're in for the long haul, you have to be patient in learning about how to be successful making money on the internet, know what you want to achieve, (have a goal) then lay out a workable plan to achieve your goal.

If your focus is a get rich quick scheme, it's likely you'll lose a lot of money online without making a dime. Do watch out for ads promising you of that and stay away.

To succeed online you must be ready to learn, be hard-working, determined, consistent and have some common sense.

As a member of the WarRoom I can say it is worth all $37 for the lifetime membership. It is not just the fact you get access to a lot of the WSOs for free there is much more to it then just that.

For one till you become a War Room member you can't post WSOs on this site. Second you can't post in the Make Money Online section of the forum. Which has immensely helped me grow my list.

Third if you have not been a member it is kind of hard for me to believe you'd write a long post about why someone shouldn't join. Not every newbie suffers from information overload. And most importantly the my ideas, strategies and plans subform is a gold mine for anyone regardless of their skill level.

I'm very tempted to join the War Room myself, but I already have a ton of information at my fingertips. I see the War Room as something I can use to start scaling up my efforts once I start making some money. Till then I want to keep working with what I've already committed myself to.

There is nothing wrong with doing that, however as I said above if you intend to release a WSO in the future you will need the membership to the War Room to do so. So if you subscribe now you pay the $37 fee for the War Room for life then in the future when you release your WSO you only pay the $40 fee to release it. If you don't get the War Room ahead of time you have to pay $77 the day you release your WSO.

Much success to you either way

The ability to store 400 PM's instead of just 10 is worth the 37 dollars by itself in my opinion. LOL

Also, I keep seeing people say it's a lifetime membership, but when I paid it said it was only a 20 year subscription..?

"you get access to a lot of the WSOs for free"

As Johnny Carson might have said:

        I DID NOT know that...

Way cool - was planning to join soon regardless, but that's a nice added bonus!

Great points and a good read!

I have scatterbrain often. It's pinnacle to stay focused on my goals and only let something hugely appealling change them.

            Kay:

"about 2 years ... she is yet to go through the product"

"after buying the product she became interested in something else and ignored it"

Your conclusion: "That's what too much information does."

            My take on the situation:

You have no control over "too much information" - that's what the Internet is, does, and will continue to be on an ever increasing basis.

What we all can learn to control (including your sister) is how we accumulate, assimilate, and implement whatever information we choose to embrace.

The War Room should really not be any part of this discussion. It is a wonderful treasure for those who know how to use it without losing their focus. The War Room, and really any other information source, is not the problem.

The War Room is like a great smorgasbord of online marketing information.

It is not healthy to belly up to the feast and consume everything in sight.

Your sister, like so many other aspiring marketers here, needs to learn discipline, focus on one strategy at a time, and then implement the very basic steps that will get her moving in the right direction making one sale at a time.

Once the basics are mastered, the War Room members will teach how to scale up a business so that it truly becomes a full time earning machine.

In my experience, "too much information" is never the real problem; that rests with each individual and how he deals with it.

Maybe your sister should be taking your free how to blog without a blog course. ;-)

The way I see it, the war room is to weed out the newbies that aren't serious about what they are doing or what they want to do.

I joined the War Room after being given a review copy of Alicia Lyttle's awesome WSO. I didn't realize how good WSOs could be. I didn't know how to do anything online. I only had a free Blogger blog. After Alicia's excellent WSO, I was able to easily create my own actual websites following the step-by-step instructions in her videos. I really owe alot to her!

So I joined the War Room and it's really awesome. I try to read a new WSO every day. I learn something new every day. It really is an awesome investment. You don't have to let information overload get you sidetracked.

As a newbie, who was going through just what you said, overload, and purchased too much stuff and wasn't getting anywhere which I posted here:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-you-help.html

I got some great advice and ONE suggestions was join the War Room.

Which I did. Other suggestions are listed in the above thread and cautions not to just start downloading free stuff.

So, yes, you could get overwhelmed but I didn't because I took the other advice given me in the above mentioned thread and did these things
    1)treat this as a business
    2) create plan - one method, one product to start with
    3) focus on just that until getting sign ups, sales, etc.

With those guidelines set in place FIRST, joing the War Room was fantastic. It did take me some time to go through it all but remembering what I had chosen for my method and product and finding things in there to help me, I made it to page 1, number 3 in Google for my keyword in just 5 days (and it has over 1 billion results in it). All from what I got for free once I joined the War Room!!!!

So I personally have to say at this time, this is this was a great purchase.

Hello everyone, thanks for your input. But many of you seem to get me wrong. I am not in anyway condemning the War Room; without being told, I know every private forum must have some great benefits if not it wouldn't be private, or would it? So that's not the point. The main purpose of this post was actually to guide beginners here and online and the War Room came in because when one get here one of the immediate decisions you're faced with is whether or not to join the War Room right away, at least it was one of the decisions I was faced with. And for me the decision is to join later. What influenced that was because getting into that right now maybe distracting for me. And God, there's so many WSOs! It can be confusing for someone completely new online. So the post was just meant as a guide, and for those who join the War Room, tips so they maximize the benefits instead of getting off track as a result.

I just felt the need for a post like this because of what I experienced on my first visit. A lot is going on here and many times people wouldn't even know where to start. That's why even some webmasters are beginning to create a for new comers page on their sites, 'New here? start here'.

So I really meant well, no need to get defensive over the War Room, because the immerse value of the forum is not being questioned.
