Frustrated, Patient, and being steady

First, I would like to introduce myself. I am a business owner and would like to expand my local business to the Internet Market. Knowing that the internet is the largest market today, I know there is a great opportunity to expand. It was 2 months ago when I started learning about IM on blackhatforums. I've been reading and tested out common IM techniques with forum backlinks(somewhat tedious), facebook, ebay, twitter(using tweet attacks), and easy seo tools. I feel as if my train of thought is scattered right now and I need to focus on building a strong foundation or back bone. Personally, I do not know any Internet Marketer. Honestly, I can not ever claim to have even made an acquaintance or IM friend I can share my struggles with.

Honestly, I have made some sales but I am not getting enough traffic to my site. I would like to know a strong and stable method to building a firm foundation for increasing positive traffic to my site. I am selling supplements and the products are listed cheaper than almost all competitors. I will not give up and I will keep pressing forward. Any feedback is accepted whether it is constructive criticism, positve, or negative. I respect all who have considered or have read my thread. God bless all and tread lightly.

You have the right idea, but your lack of skills is leaving you overwhelmed. You are trying to much at once. You need to focus on a couple areas at a time, until you have a strong grasp. Baby steps.

Using the social networks and forums is a great way to start building relationships. The hardest part about selling online is credibility. So, start going to forums that target your market and start building relationships. Also, use twitter hashtags that are relevant, to get more exposure.

I would have to agree with you ryan. I am spreading myself too thin. Your constructive criticism is well respected. I've limited myself to only focusing on Forums and Twitter for now. I must do better and be greater in these fields of IM and I will. It's the only way to gain more knowledge. I'm putting aside SEO methods for now and will focus on building a firm foundation through twitter and niche related forums. Thank you ryan, god bless you and your lively hood.

Agree completely with what Ryan said too. You have a lot to learn before you can start being successful in this field. Twitter and forum marketing are quite complex , as is SEO, unless you have good resources to understand these fields. It's good you are focusing on one aspect first though.

I'd recommend you to browse through this forum and read up on as much as you can. There is a wealth of free information available which you should know. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask people on this forum. Most of us were in your shoes at some point in the recent past

If indeed you are selling products at prices lower than your competitors, with a bit of effort and skillful marketing, hopefully your business will increase considerably. Don't put SEO on the side too long... because a lot of your long term, sustained traffic will come from search engines, and if you don't optimize your websites, you'll be losing out on quite a bit of money

    Best of luck

Hey Yasir thanks a lot. I was going through my google alerts here clearing up my discussion/blog alerts(niche specified). Posting links and submitting to niche related forums. I have been messing with SEO somewhat(using Easy WP SEO widget) I do need to learn more about that next. I was considering using ScrapeBox, but I am unaware of it's functions. There is definitely a lot of reading that needs to be done for my personal development. I do highly appreciate your post on this thread. May god be with you brother.

Just a few more specific tips for you after reading your reply:
        • Remember not to just leave your link on niche related forums. Leave informed, relevant replies on those forums and just leave your link in the signature. Entice people to click your link this way, rather than just spamming forums with links which may actually drive away potential traffic
        • ScrapeBox is a very powerful tool, but it is only effective if used properly. If used improperly, it can get your website banned. It basically finds thousands of blogs, and posts your link to them in the form of comments without you actually having to visit the blogs. While it might sound tempting (1000s of links by just clicking a button), the comments are spammy and Google hates this. ScrapeBox is good to find blogs where you can leave manual comments on, but I would not recommend it .
Keep reading and learning - there is literally no end to how much IM knowledge you can have

Everyone has given you solid advice thus far. This forum is the right place to be because you will learn a lot about IM. One thing you are beginning to realize though is that it is a lot of work but the most important things are focus and consistency. Find what works and stay with it.

But I guess finding what works is the problem right now. When it comes to traffic I think there's a warrior here (Kim Roach) who is a traffic queen. Search for her on the forum and read ALL her posts.

What you really need is to streamline the areas you need to concentrate on and go after them one at a time.

As everyone else has said, pick a single method and stick with it. Are you good at creating simple videos (even slide shows)? If so, learn as much about keyword research as possible and start creating videos for low / moderate competition terms. It doesn't take much for videos to rank organically, especially YouTube videos. Just good research and simple backlinks.

Good at developing sites and want to see quick results? Spend a month working on 5 sites or so. Get them to rank, earn a bit of money, and then flip them. You can do this in a month if you're working with VERY focused niches. The sites don't need to be earning much. Most people just want to bypass the initial grunt-work and purchase a site that is already off the ground floor and earning something. Even if it's not a huge amount.

There's plenty of things you can do. Just find something, stick to it, and expand onto other methods once you're profitable.
