My sites are disappearing from Google... not exactly!!

Let me explain.

I have 10 domains listed all under the same hosting account with GoDaddy. Four of these sites were being rented out to local clients and have been for about a year. They all had from #1 to #3 first page rankings for their main keyword for about a year or more.

Last week something strange happened. My sites' main URL which were the ones that were showing up on first page started disappearing. The sub pages are still there but on the bottom of the first page or on second page. For example, one my sites (www. data recovery mississauga . ca) held the top position for that keyword for about a year. Now when I search data recovery mississauga my main URL is no longer listed on Google at all but the sub pages (ie. www . data recovery mississauga / about us.html) is still there on the second page).

This was first brought to my attention by one of my clients who contacted me to tell me that he is no longer on the first page. At first it only affected one domain but over the course of the week more and more of domains experiencing the same exact pattern. Even if I search google using "site: www. example. com" the page is not there but the sub pages still show.

At this point I'm not sure if Google is doing this directly of if there is some time of internal problem on my own sites.

What I've Learned

You hear it all the time on the forums not to put all your eggs in one basket and I'm sure some of you here do the same thing I did. You think it can never happen to you. If I would've had these domains which I was making $200 to $300 per month of each one on a different host this would have never happened to all of them (or at least I think the chances would've of been a lot less). So don't do what I did host your domains on different accounts!

I've went ahead and taken one of these domains and hosted it somewhere else and will hope for the best. Wish me luck

    Good luck.

I'm hearing more and more that Google is becoming unpredictable with listing and ranking sites for who knows what reasons.

  • I think it is due to what sites you used to get your ranks.

Article marketing was changed to greatly reduce its influence on your site rankings. Maybe another change is going on right now?

How do you get your backlinks?

My rankings are a mix of article marketing / blog commenting / profile backlinks. I never went over board with it... non of that 1000 backlinks or anything like that. To be honest, If my sites would've been pushed down the ranks or even completely delisted from google I've would've understood. But what's driving me nuts is the fact that the sub pages are still there but the main URLs are not.
