google maps help

Hi i am at my wits end i have a london based agency that was the top of google maps in march since then we have been bounced off due to another firm hi jacking our listing i am not a seo or google maps expert and have paid various firms to sort out getting us to the top again all seem intent on taking money and promising the world and not coming through i have had recorded contracts that have not been honoured , we had reached page one pos g on the map when i was contacted by an expert in our feild escorts and escort agencies i gave him the account to run we have since had to start a new map listing and are page 8 and not moving it has been 4 weeks , i am being asked to optimise the website for quite alot of money when the website has already been the top so google has NO PROBLEMS WITH IT also i am being told 2000 links have been added and 20,000 natural ones added over the next few months i dont know what is going on can somone of some TRUE adivce please how long will the map take to regain its position what can i do ????????????
