    you DO NOT have to get hosting from them, the tutorials are very helpful

    And the thread 'newbie to millionaire' (do a search) is a fab beginners guide, wish I'd had it when I first started, it would have saved me about a year, and its way underpriced too! And no I am not getting any kind of incentive for it nor do I know the owner, I just have the product!

    Whatever you do, don't go purchase a domain -- until you have done your research and decided what kinds of stuff you are going to promote. Being that the holidays are near, I would recommend promoting stuff for the holidays. There's tons of stuff you can promote across all kinds of niche markets like toys, computers and electronics, video games & systems, cooking supplies, clothing, and more.

    You will see a quick return for your work since people online start shopping earlier. People are so desperate during this time, you don't have to sell to them. All the popular stuff usually sells out in locals stores. They just want a place to buy. Just imagine how much money you could make if you got ranked before stuff was released or advertised on t.v...a ton. Since stuff hasn't come out yet, there's also little competition, which means less work for you.

    Yea I agree don't pay for hosting until you know exactly what direction you want to go in...Find something you are really passionate about and that you have a lot of knowledge in.

      Two very sounds pieces of advice.

      When you have an idea of what you want your subject/niche to be, then you start establishing your business;
      1. Selecting a relevant website name
      2. Paying for web hosting (with a free domain name which you established at 1.)
      3. Registering your name with Wordpress.org
      4. Use the Web Hosts Control Panel to home your new WP site (look for Fantastico, it guides you through the whole process)

      I know this is a bit simplistic, but it will be a start if you take notice of the advice above. It could make life a lot easier for you, and avoid false starts. (I know, I made the mistake of jumping i the wrong direction way back). I wish someone had given me that advice then, it would have saved me extra work, a lot of time, and quite a few $$$ too.

    I would suggest reading some guides and blog posts for some help buddy, remember Google is your best friend ask and it shall seek!!!

    This is the age old debate. Is it worth building your business on a free domain that you actually have no control over.

    How many times have you clicked on a link and had the "sorry this site has been deleted" page appear.

    Invest in a domain and some cheap hosting, that way you'll never get burned!!! BUT DO RESEARCH YOUR DOMAIN FIRST!!!
