Rec'd for Google-safe Amazon affiliate plugin

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Google-safe Amazon affiliate plugin or theme? I read that Google penalizes amazon affiliate links, altho some say this is only for the "thin" sites that don't provide their own unique quality content. Is there one that makes your links safe and is totally white-hat?

WPZon?
Shopperpress
ProReview
EasyAzon
others?

thanks, Eric

They do not penalize Amazon Affiliate links - it just isn't logical. Of course, if you have a thin site with Amazon links (or any monetization) you will be published regardless.

Safest bet - nofollow your affiliate links.

I understand nofollow (using robots.txt file), but do you mean use sub-folders with both a php redirect file and also the robots.txt file in it to get this done? We wouldn't want to nofollow our whole site would we?

Edit: I found a competitor's site and viewed the source. Looks like one way to nofollow is to put it in the (a rel="nofollow" href="http etc. on every code line that uses an amazon associate link.

Is that what you meant by use nofollow?

I just submitted an authorship request with Google+ and my site (TrendingSideways.com) immediately disappeared from the rankings. I thought my site was completely white hat so I'm almost positive it was because of the Amazon affiliate links, which I had naively assumed would already be nofollow.

If you're using wordpress, I just found out you can use the plugin "Link Indication 4.4" to nofollow all links to a specific domain. I just did this so hopefully that will eventually fix the problem. I've talked to somebody else who got penalized for using affiliate links without nofollow.

Yes, it really does happen. Never suspected Google would penalize me for this, and never suspected Amazon would be blatantly violating the Google TOS like this either.
