Affiliate Sales - Optin or No Optin?

Mornign Warriors,

Ok I am at a loose end with my new online campaign,

I have been marketing a wordpress blog with free marketing strategies (Articles, Social Bookmarking etc.) for about 2 weeks and selling a clickbank product. Now at first I didnt have an optin, it was basically a review site for a product and I generated a sale.

But since that sale I changed it to a squeeze page to try and generate optins. But the optins are just not coming. Ive had traffic to the site but only 2 optins. So my question is. If I want to make a decent monthly income through affiliate marketing should I return to the review site or leave it as a squeeze page????

I am thinking I made the wrong decision with the optin! As I havent made a sale since and believe I would of if I had of left it!

I need warriors views on this from warriors whom clean up in the affiliate scene! (Not the IM Niche)

Any chance of seeing the page?

I guess we are all so opted in these days that we subscribe with more thought than previously.

I know for me I am looking for overwhelming VALUE before I will enter my information ... or an overwhelming bribe, gift or reward.

So maybe the key is to look at the W I F M factor (Whats Innit For Me).

    Have a great day

it would be very useful to see your squeeze page.

I'm not an expert, but I would say generally you want to be building your own list before you send them to the offer. But like the other poster said, you have to give a compelling reason to those visitors to sign up. You might also want to place an exit pop-up, such as action pop-up, so if the visitor doesn't sign up you can redirect them to the offer.

    Hope that helps,

I believe that squeeze page and review site each has its own benefits. Review sites is more geared towards building long tail traffic and having relevant content to convert visitors to sale. (you can also place opt-ins in a prominent position of your review site too)

A squeeze page is generally used to drive opt-ins and build your own list & readership. Both squeeze pages and review sites are assets and it really depends on your affiliate marketing strategy.

You can definitely make money with either a squeeze page or a review site. Maybe you would like to drive more traffic to your squeeze page and calculate the opt-in conversion rate. If your opt-in conversion rate is good, I think the problem lies in your email follow-ups.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Thank yuyuan,

That makes alot of sense. I just feel that I chnged the site when it was converting. 1 sale out of 27 hops was a great result! Maybe I should of stayed with it how it was. I will keep it how it is today and test it and decide what I want to do!

  • I think you need to check and evaluate your squeezepage copy. Optin is good, as money is on the list as they say but be sure to create an attractive and attention-grabbing page to generate more optins plus sales.

    Funny..
I got the exact opposite result.

Once I direct the traffic to squeeze page, my profit is almost doubled.

Having said that.. You have to work out your number (conversion rate). In addition, you got to track and test.
