iTunes listing visibility?
What does it take for Apple to update the podcast page?
I had/have a listing there which sends me lots of indirect traffic even though we are 30th in the niche when sorted for popularity. The funny part is we are the only weekly show updating every week. There appears be no rhyme or reason to how Apple updates the free podcast listings populate in the store. The entire top 20 shows in our niche have not been updated in 3-5 years. BUT there is a clear indication based on the commercial nature of those old shows that it may be forgotten paid placements.
If anyone could help me out understanding the listings on ITunes I would be grateful.
FYI, for SEO nuts, new podcasts with good graphics generally get picked and placed on the "New and Notable" page for a few hours. The spike in traffic is amazing if you can stay above the fold.
