Thought of a Nice little Fiverr idea

Hi all,
I don't use Fiverr myself as I'm working on a few other things at the moment but I've seen a few posts on here asking for good ways to make money with Fiverr and yesterday evening I thought of one so I thought I'd share it with you guys.

As I said, I don't use Fiverr myself so I have no idea if this is already being done to death or not but its a quick way to provide loads of different sales with very little work. Each project will probably take no more than 5 mins.

Basically, what you need to do is get yourself a decent graphic designer and ask him/her to design you a set of cartoon character TEMPLATES. Maybe a selection of 10 different designs of each of these:
  • 10 x Heads
  • 10 X Hair Styles
  • 10 X eye-Brows
  • 10 X Eyes
  • 10 X Noses
  • 10 X Ears
  • 10 X Mouths
  • 10 X Upper-Body
  • 10 X Lower-Body
  • 10 X Shoes

Now, with all these different items you could potentially build an unlimited amount of different cartoon characters by mixing and matching all the different features together. This concept is like the old Mr Potato Head... do you remember that?? LOL

With this template you can head over to Fiverr and offer people their own cartoon character, maybe for their blog or you even offer them a caricature of them self. Anyway, that's my idea! I've no idea if others are already doing this or not but its a quick way to make money with very little time or effort.

If you really take this concept seriously you can have all sorts of other stuff to add to the templates such as accessories, hats, bags etc etc etc The list is pretty endless. I'm sure most people have built their own avatar at some point and this is exactly the same as that except you get paid $4 for every one you build.

Hope you like it.
Good Luck

It's actually a smart idea, but I think there is a lot of competition on Fiverr so you need to really be unique and give "a little bit extra" than the rest on Fiverr. Also I think that a lot of people don't believe that they get "quality" for just $5 bucks

And what I also didn't understand is how you can mix up the cartoons? How do you put a nose on a face A and then nose on face B?

Yeah, I'd imagine there is a lot of junk being offered on fiverr but this is where people need to stand out and get themself a good reputation. Once you've established a good rep and you have 4 or 5 good reviews your laughing to the $$$.

You basically get all the pieces of the characters made to they can interchange with eachother. Its pretty easy really. Have you never used an avatar building tool before where you select the eyes, nose, mouth, hair etc etc. Here, check out yahoo's avatar builder as this kindof explains how it would work: Yahoo! I think this is a great idea, but how much would it cost to create all these character parts in a reasonable time even. Also, I have manga studio debut, not the pro version. It takes me quite a bit of time to create a character part for me.

The first thing to do is ask yourself if you would pay for the service.

As noted, the peices would have to look very professional, otherwise a potential buyer could just see your idea and do it for themselves.

If you have an artistic talent you might want to consider making the parts up yourself.

I got the idea after reading this blog post where someone actually bought a character for their blog. When I saw the character, I instantly thought this could be easily done via a template process. The women who bought this character was VERY happy and sumwhat amazed at the bargain she had recieved from Fiverr.
