EDIT: DOMAIN REGISTERED,Moderators please close thread
Hi , I want to register new domain but I don't know what is better to chose, I can register for example "mytutorial.net" with 8000 searches EXACT, or is it better to register "mytutorialss.com" with 14000 EXACT searches ?
Will this double "s" in second domain affect on SERP? Thanks a lot

p.s. this domains are just examples,I want register other one.

The double ss has nothing to do with SERP.

The higher number of exact searches is better when trying to rank, but as much or more important is the $$ value or the search term.

I don't think it matters, because you can just make a directory with your keyword and them the keyword will be in the url, keyword.xxx or domain.xxx/keyword. if there is a ton of competition, your gonna have to work your butt off to get ranked no matter what your domain is. Personally I go for brandable domain names.

  • the double "s" won't harm your rankings and position in SERP, and you say "mytutorialss.com" has 14000 EXACT searches. So go for it

You may get into trouble with the double s, because if people type it in, they will probably leave off the last "s" and be sent to someone else's site.

It might be better to add in a modifier...ie mysupertutorials.com.

Exact phrase match .... The 2nd S is meaningless! Once you realize that Google is a titles junk yard and they will highlight the letters and words that you type into the search and the extra S is not a matter.... What matters is the CONTENT and KEYWORDS.... Learn the right way to get your CONTENT to rank! That is the best advice you will get all day...

Exactly, that's what I was getting at with a kw sub directory your url and title (if you add the kw to the title). Go with brandable, so your visitors will REMEMBER it.

The double ss's are kind of ugly Singular would be cleaner, more professional looking. Did you check the competition level and CPC in addition to the search numbers? The plural may have more traffic but maybe that term is harder to get visibility for, or is valued at a lower CPC than the singular. Just some food for thought!

It has no effect on the SERPs as others have said.

That being said, the double s turns me off personally as an online consumer so I believe that you would have to really compensate by making that double s a part of the branding somehow and really make it look intentional/like it's the best thing through your header banner graphic.

It can look worse or better depending on the niche, however. I was going to say that tutorialss would look worse considering you're giving people information, but it kind of works in an ironic sort of way. I assume that's not your niche and you were just using it as an example, however.

If you can overcome the negatives and put together a very professional looking site and branding/graphics for the double s domain, I say go for it if it has a higher volume.

I dont think it will have any effect on SERP, you website is a hit as long as you have damn good content which keeps people addicted to your site... 14000 searches is a good No. Go for it..
