Anyone had success buying leads?

Has anyone had success buying leads on here? I was crunching the numbers on the cost per thousand leads, buying e-mail in addition to direct mail, etc. and trying to figure out if it's worth it for us to do a test. If you have had success, what kind of conversion rates have you seen from these purchased leads? Does e-mail or direct mail convert better? Also, what is your preferred list broker? Thanks.

    • My strategy is to create free reports. Even opt-in free reports.

They work far better at getting leads than purchasing.

The difference is night and day; cold calling versus interested leads coming to you and already liking your stuff.

How do you typically promote your free reports? We run a successful Adwords/Microsoft Adcenter campaign driving paid traffic directly to our product landing page. What kind of other sources could you suggest to promote a free report so we can garner leads who don't come from ppc marketing?

I agree. However, my industry is highly competitive. Try ranking for "social anxiety treatment," let alone "social anxiety" by itself. Very difficult and expensive.

A good strategy is to create what is called a squeeze page. Basically a one page website with some information and a form that the viewer can submit their contact information. These capture pages work very well.

Once you have developed a Capture page. then you need people to fill out that form which brings us to the final step. Getting traffic.

This can be done several ways, SEO, pay per click or you could use third party traffic brokers. e.g from a company such as as these Website Traffic | Web Traffic
