Hard time finding honest reviews

I know this sounds like whining, but I think the only place to find any honest reviews of anything is on a forum such as this. You just can't seem to get an honest review of any product that is affiliated with IM, because someone always has an ulterior motive to make a buck. It's really difficult to know who to trust. Anyway, thanks for listening.

If you understand who the person is doing the review, then you will have a much better understanding as to whether that person's review is trustworthy.

That is why the Warrior Forum is so cool, because you can click immediately to see if the person doing the review is credible.

    Hi Cory

Yes, it's hard to find honest reviews on "review blogs". But most niches do have forums where people discuss products and their results with said products (the weight loss niche comes to mind).

One thing to keep in mind when looking at reviews is: what is the review saying? For instance, does the product help you build muscle, lose fat, lose inches, etc. I know, I'm still on weight loss - but you can apply this to any niche.

TPW - our posts overlapped That's a very good point. Definitely a review from someone reputed, who's been around the block a couple of times, will mean a lot more than a review from a newbie who has no idea about the niche.

  • Hm? Amazon reviews can be brutally honest.

But just because it's "Honest" doesn't mean the review is worth anything. I gravitate toward reviews - digital products or otherwise that are done by people that own and use a product or service.

I tend to review things on my network of sites that I have actually purchased or owned. The biggest problem then becomes dealing with all the email from people who want to pick your brain to death on a topic, but never by anything.

Hard to find reviews on review blogs then yes I completely understand what your saying, just need to be mindful of what the review is actually saying for example if a review was saying this product is crap but still told you to check it out then clearly the person who did the review just wants a quick buck

I have played and still play a lot of Internet poker, and throughout the years I have looked for different poker rooms to play at by going to manhy "poker room review" websites which offer everything from rakeback to deposit bonuses. I have played at many of the big sites and some of the smaller ones, and have used many of the special promotions offered by these reviewers. After the fact, I can honestly say that most of the reviewers give glowing reviews simply because they are affiliates, and often times you can tell that the reviewer probably never even played at the poker room.

Hi Cory. Yes you have to be a bit paranoid when you read reviews, as many of them are written by affiliates, or the product creators themselves.

Howvere, sometimes you may find impartial information and reviews, on both people and products at IM Report Card.

They only allow actual users to comment, and rate each entry on their own scale.

    Good luck

That is a problem. In fact, I seem to recall that was originally the reason why I joined up here. Most of the blogs about IM seem a little biased so I looked for and found a forum where real people give feedback about IM products and services.

Unfortunately not quite true any more. I have openly left negative reviews for two product/vendors in the past, and both disappeared. Many people are wary of naming and shaming for fear of libel/slander lawsuits etc. This restricts the ability to warn Warriors, including newbies of the many worthless products being touted around, and the names of the villains selling them.

In case newcomers aren't aware there is a separate Forum: Internet Marketing Product Reviews & Ratings which is specifically for this purpose, but even that, I find limited.

If I catch a review request before it's removed or moved, and I have gebuine knowledge of the product/WSO, or it's creator, I usually offer to PM my verdict.

You will easily find positive recommendations in this Forum, and if you find many repeats of the same 'guru' or system/product, you can at least have some confidence in it's value.

      I hope this helps
      Alan
