Community Management Tools&Techniques

Greetings fellow Internet marketers!

I'm a newbie to community management and was just wondering if there were some special tools for this matter.

Would appreciate any advice on how to quicker and better find one's away around in this activity.

    Hi Zack!

    I feel that the best way to manage a community is to run it like a forum where you choose a few trusted individuals to be your moderators.

    You can choose either to register your own domain and use forum softwares e.g. phpbb to create a forum on your own domain.


    However, if you think that you do not want to host your own forum, you can try out proboards or delphiforums to create forums.

    It might be helpful if you could explain a little more about what you need. Not all of us understand what you mean by community management.
    What I mean is basically being a company's voice with regard to one of its products. This involves running a Facebook fan page as well as a Twitter account, but most importantly, building and managing a community of the product users and prospect leads on the website.
    Since it's still a few month before the website's launch, I'm trying to bring as much attention to the product, which is currently under development, as possible. So I guess it's more about SMM at this stage. Sorry for sounding confusing.

    So is there a tool which is an absolute must when it comes to social media marketing?
