What can I do? Hotmail is junking any notifications my site sends out. It is a social network come dating site so its pretty important these notifications get to the users? Will moving from using our own mail server to someone like Mailchimp help?

    Hi,

Maybe you can consider using getresponse? They have their own way to getting past junk filters.

    Hope this helps.

    =)

Is this not a mailing list provider? We are more after something that will push out loads of notifications without them being blocked.

Depends on the messages you are sending out really.

If you use an email manager like aweber or getresponse then yes they will work constantly to make sure your messages are delivered.

Are you using just HTML messages or just text based?

If your using only HTML on your own servers try switching to just text see if they get through then.

    Thanks.
    Colin.

You can check The Spamhaus Project to see if your domain and or IP is on the spam blacklist and request to get it removed.

This is a particular problem if you are using shared hosting and you have a spammer sharing the same IP. Sometimes purchasing a dedicated IP for about 10 bucks a year is money well spent.

Hotmail is notorious for this. I would suggest aweber?

Affiliate marketing is prohibited by Mailchimp.

Aweber etc all seem to be for newsletters etc. What I need is a solution that can push email notifications. Similar to when a forum tells you you have a reply to a discussion?

If you're website is new, and the receivers of those emails term them as junk, pretty much your email will be rated as spam.
And the problem is- a lot of people mark emails from social networks as spam.. And that is not helping..

Are you using shared hosting right now?

No its a unique IP on a cloud server. The users do opt in for the emails so its a little confusing. I have tested it and they just drop straight into junk!

Use listwire as an auto responder it's free and awesome! Try using your own email by the way, those you get for signing up domains.
