Question about Google Webmaster Tools

I have a few sites where I made that html file they want you to create in order to get webmaster tools to work on your site. Every once in a while a couple of the sites will be verified, then they will not be verified, then they will be again. Why do my sites need to be verified do much? I dont do anything to the html file, they are still on my sites.

That is strange, when you have verified your sites there is usually no need to verify them again, nor would they be unverified. Just make sure that you keep that html page in the public html folder for each of those sites.

Are you making any changes to the pages in which the verification is on? Usually once verified, that is it, it shouldn't reverify?

No I Havent touched them. It is weird. When I try to verify it says google is experiencing an error and cant verify. Then I check again, and one site is verified but a different site us not verified.

I always use the addition of the meta tag in the head section of the homepage, works well, you verify once and that is that. May want to try it out and see how it works for one of your sites. I see a number of glitches happen with Google Webmaster tools and Google Analytics, some of it just seems buggy to me. But hey, its free so its the right price.
